Damn right they are! hahaha - I'm kidding, of course they are not, however in this case Adam Lambert will surely become one, after the show... wait and see.

If you search the net, it looks like the fact that he is gay has taken it's toll on his "girl" fans. I don't think he's going to win, mainly because of the pics of him sucking face with other guys is all over the place. Sorry...his best bet was to get the young hotties fantasizing over him, but now he doesn't get the respect from the macho guys or the straight chicks. I think he'll end up in the top 3 but I doubt the powers at be behind the "real" voting are going to bring an open homosexual as the next american idol. Not that there's anything wrong with that. ;)

Holy Cow! Just when you think you've got him figured out - he does a 180. That was totally awesome. Even Simon had to give it up on that one!

(Is it me, or did he bare a strange resemblance to Kurt Russell?)

Holy shit!!!! That was fantastic!!!!!

Yes, I did see the resemblence to Kurt Russell now that you said that. I was trying to put my finger on it. I kept thinking it was John Stamos.

Umm, no, he shouldn't win in my books.

From the youtubes that I've seen and in my opinion, he is pitchy in regular range and cannot control his falsetto as well as he should.

Adam tonight sounded like Adam Sandler doing the "Turkey Song" to me. I thought that the 16 year old that did "Papa was a Rolling Stone" was the best performer of the night. The rest were not up to snuff at all.

Adam was in a league of his own tonight, a star performer, and I like his new look.

While watching tonight I visualized Steve Perry standing in Smokey Robinson's place later this season, Steve working with each singer
on their Journey song. I felt that Adam would be the one to shine on that night because he can hit those Perry high notes.
You know with Randy as a Judge on American Idol that he must have asked Steve to participate this way, and I think when Perry's friends
ask him to do something that is reasonable he does it. You get someone like Smokey Robinson doing what he did tonight, it isn't beneath
Steve Perry to do it either. I really feel we are going to see it this season, I'm predicting that is going to happen, but only Madsplash knows for sure. :D

Sadly, I didn't like it as much as last week. It just kinda stayed at the same level. Tonight belonged to Allison...that young girl is incredible, confident, works the stage, connects with the audience...still hard to believe she's only 16.

Pitchy? You're hearing something different than just about every other person I've heard. Lambert is the best singer the show's ever had. Will he win? Who knows? Who can predict what today's youth will vote for.

I just hope it's not LiL, nice name

The "Randy Jackson is going to get Steve Perry to be on Idol" rumors/hopes have been flying for years now. Every Idol season, like clockwork.

People assume (or rather, people think wishfully) that just because of Randy's Journey stint, that Perry is going to show up on Idol. I wish I had a buck for every time I've seen that come up over the last few years. I'd be a freakin' zillionaire.

I understand that, but just because it HASN"T happened, that means that it CAN'T possibly happen, right? Just like the new album. Just because it hasn't doesn't mean it's not going to. I don't care if it's been 15 years or a trillion rumors, doesn't mean it won't happen.

Patience and positivity.

That part I will grant you. That line of thinking can be applied to anything, really. So yes... just because something hasn't happened doesn't mean it can't or won't.

Its just strange to me how people connected to Steve Perry, even in the most remote ways, always seem to get dragged into all the rumors and wishes and hopes for no other reason than their past or limited present connection. That's the part I was picking at. The conclusions people jump to are just plain ridiculous sometimes. For years now it's been "Randy knows Steve = Steve is going to be on Idol".

I get what you're saying, but if there is new stuff being done, as we've all pretty much agreed that there is, wouldn't now make more sense to start creating a buzz, rather than the last several years when there was nothing coming up to try and get going?

I'm betting something else happens this season on AI, involving SP.

You're right about that. It certainly would make for good PR to get a buzz going if something is a definite go.

But no one credible has been buzzing, now, have they? Its basically April already, so if the madsplash timeline is to be believed, there should already be credible buzz, guest spots, maybe interviews. If not already than certainly very soon.

8 months is MORE than enough time. In the old days, it would be time to push, but with the internet now, which is how I believe much of it will be based, it won't take long for a huge build up to happen.

I'm sticking by my November. If it's off a month or two, to coincide with Christmas or the new year, that'll be cool also.
But it's happening. Just a matter of when.

[b]still hard to believe she's only 16.[b]

and that she almost got sent home last week.

She is in my top three with Adam [and Danny.]

The show isn't on until tonight here.

What did she sing?
What did Adam sing?

EDIT - 's okay, I found 'em on youtube. Both fabulous.

Yeah but when you've been 100% off the radar for 15 long years, and you hope to sell big, you need to make people care.

The smaller group of die hards already do, but one can't rely on that. The rest of the world, or at least the US, who every once in awhile hear "Oh Sherrie" or some Journey song on the radio and think "Oh riiiight, Steve Perry... hey wonder what he's up to these days....?" and head to Google, (which is exactly what I had to do one day a few years ago, cuz I had no idea what the dude was up to)... in other words, the vast group of people he would need to reach, really are not paying attention. If one is going to plan a return after such a long while, time is not to be wasted.

Surely someone as astute in the business of music as SMFP knows this.

Has anyone else noticed that Danny Gokey seems to have let the whole Idol thing go to his head? At first he acted really humble, but now he's acting like he's God's gift to the microphone. That's a big turnoff to me. His voice is not that good to have a swelled-up ego, and he definitely doesn't look like a rocker, so I have no idea where the big ego came from.
