Using Internet Explorer, go to this url and do the scan. It will let you know if you are infected and steps to take to repair it.

I just had new antivirus ware installed. I went to the site for the computer I used. They said avoid those scan sites. They can actually add the worm to your computer, or steal info. Be careful who you have do that. It said if you have new antivirus ware installed you will be o.k. Usually people who don't keep up with the virus updates and have old anti virus ware are at highest risks.

My desktop is still running 2000.
I was going to reformat anyway with XP, but dang, I hate to have it forced on me.
I didn't hear about this until today.

Reformatting doesn't mean changing Operating Systems. It's just to clean the crap off of it. I would go with XP if you have that option, though.

As for re-formatting, it is actually recommended that you do it annually. Ugh!

I'm doing the full scan. It's 30% complete and I have 11 items detected and 3 issues found.
Rick - I was going to try this but it says that the full scan might take up to a few hours to complete.Has your scan been running long?
