To my recollection, President Obama hasn't ferried the bin laden family out of the US following a terrorist attack. Things that make you go hmm.

LOL, I seem to remember the entire faction of the GOP wanting to throttle Canada because it assumed 19 of the 20 Hijackers came from Canada. Buzz! Wrong, again!

Saudi Arabia is no friend to the US and you damn well know it.

They are now. We are making friends left and right, no pun intended. The world states are starting to take another hard look at us. We are regaining the respect we last the last 8 years. it's a good thing to have allies.

Yes, I do. - Air Force. And if you think I trust those bastards over there to treat him kindly, you're out of your fucking mind.

And God forbid, if he gets captured, can you blame them for treating him in an inhumane manner? I mean come on, if we, the great United States can torture, I see no reason why others can't return the favour. hell, i would if I were our enemy. You might want to rethink your position on torture Barb.

Fuck off. I was a soldier, I can comment on this with some fucking real feel. I earned that right.

Torture is wrong, and for any American to say it's ok as long as we are the one's doing it, just makes me sick. Why the fuck did I fight for people to have that kind of mindset?

How truly delusional are you, Dean? Do you honestly think these fanatics give a crap about treating our soliders properly? These are people who have no regard for human life -- ours OR THEIRS. Come on!

I'm sure now that Obama has outlawed this barbaric practice and all is great and good, our soldiers are in good and trusty hands if they are captured. Riiiiight......

Not really.
Obama hasn't hosted him at the White House.
He made a formal greeting to a fellow dignitary at the G20.
What was he supposed to do?
Scissorkick him to the face?

The Saudis are far from the only human rights violator we have friendly relations with.
Hell, China holding our debt is the only thing propping this country up.
I'm not defending their moral track record, I'm defending one leader showing basic respect to another.

A handshake would have been sufficient and appropriate. Ya, we're in deep shit with China too. They own us and if they ever decide to call in that debt, we're screwed.

Lots of generalizations being flung here.
Might want to acquaint yourself with the case of British resident, Binyam Mohamed, and then read up on a few hundred more.

Delusional enough to understand that you just wrote that it's ok for US to torture others.

Sorry barb, I really have to question your intellect and/or knowledge here. I am saddened that any reasonable thinking American would even consider adopting this kind of policy.

It makes me sick, to know that people here advocate barbaric acts of humanism.

I think sometimes, drastic measures are necessary. I'm not anywhere near suggesting it should be standard operating procedure. I think you know that, though.

China doesn't own us, that really bothers me when people say that. Agree with you there Dean.

As for the torture comment that you got so angry about, well, you seemed to be implying that we are being tortured because we "started" it. I dunno about that.

I think they waterboarded three people. How does that qualify as SOP?

Dean, if someone took your son and you were confronting him about the whereabouts of you son, KNOWING that he knows where he is but refused to tell you, would you just walk away or would you beat the ever loving shit out of him until he told you?

That is the POV I am coming from. If it's a case where innocent lives are on the line, and you know you have the right person, you do whatever you need to do. You don't let innocent people die.

WTF are you talking about? Innocents? Hey, let's talk innocents shall we? Gitmo. Guess what? There a ton of innocents there, who, yes, have been tortured. Tortured by OUR government. don't believe me, ask Col. Powell.

The point I am trying to make is just because others do it, does not mean we should. Hell, if we want to play that game, why fuck around with waterboarding? Just nuke everyone? That's your logic, and it's ridiculous to think that way.

It's already happened to us doofus. Pearl, Berg, and on and on. 3000 were tortured in the WTC for over an hour, hundreds were tortured aboard airplanes waiting for sure death and you are worried about Achmed instead. Good fucking grief.

Clinton did allow it, and it was wrong, for sure. I was pissed too.

Why don't you ask John McCain how he feels about waterboarding?

So why did we prosecute the Japanese post-WW2, and our own soldiers post-Vietnam for doing it?
