what are your favorites one year after release?
would you consider this one as good as trial by fire or arrival?

Worse than both TBF and Arrival. Revelation and Generations are equal opportunity suckage.

Man, nothing in the Journey catalog is worse than Generations, perhaps RED13?. But even those are pretty good CD's as stand alone efforts. Of course if you are comparing anything post Perry, it will always be inferior IMO.
Generations is the best release since Trial By Fire, IMO.

Vladan wrote:Hang on, did I say Generations? damn I meant Revelations. All these stupid similar sounding names, with no originality. One thing they have lost over the years as well, is actually picking decent album title names, they are absolutely horrendous.
Anyway, I meant Revelations, and not Generations.
My 2 favorites as well. Those songs are excellent in all facets.FishinMagician wrote:I what i needed and wildest dream are the standouts for me.

Turn Down The World Tonight is a great one. I like Sunshower, but the lyrics are so damn syrupy. It does have a nice groove to it though.

Change For The Better knocks me on my ass everytime. That one song is as good as anything this band has ever done.
What I needed is a very good song as well....but not awe inspiring as the above mentioned CFTB.
The Bad:
The fucking retreads disc and Augeri era songs should *never* have been done. Argued to death, no need to do it again....but seriously. If this band is so recharged with its singer, why the fuck did it have to reach under the sofa and pull out old shit to dust off? Gay, stupid, poorly done!
The Ugly:
Unfortunately, The album has some of the worst written songs every crapped out of this bands orafice as well. The worst set of lyrics ever produced is that piece of shit, What it Takes To Win. Cliche city....poorly written, poorly executed, poorly conceived.
When you take the agregate of the good, the bad and the ugly, the album comes out average. But CFTB gives me a hard on....I cant deny that. But if you take one of the most stunning songs ever done by this band in CFTB and balance it with one of the biggest pieces of shit, What it takes to Win....it's hard to swallow anything other than a lukewarm review...

It's one of my very favorites. Kicks some serious ass; showcase performance all around.

It's the only live song that I worry about Arnel's voice on. He screams the "C'mon, C'mon..." so damned loud and powerfully at the end that it seems to be on the very end of his vocal range. Great shit, though, man.
