Those acts are pure shit, with the lone exception of Heart and they just turned to shit by adding the fucking Bangles. Say it with a straight face- The Bangles. Yeah yeah yeah, we can all jack it to Suzannah Hoffs after their set, but come on already? Heart just sold out to the almighty dollar. I bet that show isn't half filled.
As for the others, pfft, garbage. Of all of them, Tom Jones will sell out. My money says none of the others will, and it only holds 6,000.

Yes we all know that we can polish the knob to Hoffs but the bottom line, that bitch can sing. And I'm not a big bitch singer fan by any stretch. Hoffs' has the shit. Thorogood is the real deal too and true to his roots.
Now for Heart, I know Deano is a big fan but I was in row number one flipping them the bird in Indy last year. They sound ok, Ann still sounds decent but her and a barn door would need a competition to see who has the most surface area.I'm still not sure why they would alienate 49% of their potential fans on the last tour but wtf do I know. Fuck'm anyhow, if it wasn't for some outside writers (insert Diane Warren here), they would not have received the "highest" commercial success.

The Greek's just one of those places you can go have a drink and relax, walk to Hollywood Blvd or have my son pick me up after the show (stacked parking sucks). Very much a Wine and Cheese type setting. Right up against Griffith Park. Not like the Forum where I saw iron Maiden, two different worlds.

Of course they're not big acts. I just like going to the Greek because it's only 6 miles away, and just a great place to see a show. I completely understand that with the Forum, Nokia, LA Sports Arena, Hollywood bowl, Rosebowl and Staples available, no big act will ever play the Greek.
I'm going there Saturday to see Celtic Woman, so that tells you what kind of shit I listen to.

Tom Jones kicks ass,Perry coudnt even lick his balls.I am seeing the fucker at Wolf Trap,he sells out anywhere he sings. He is a real icon. One of the last great singers that still tours.there is not many left like Tom Jones, they have to shovel all the panties off his stage. He still has a great vocal range ,not just for his age,try to sing along with him,he is truly gifted. He is first class all the wayJana wrote:Tom Jones on there would be a great concert. I kept seeing him on TV shows promoting his new CD 24 Hours. I thought of Tom Jones as more of an older nostalgic act. I was shocked at how great the songs were. Fantastic, all soul, which I love soul and R&B music. Song after song on this CD is great. This guy is still relevant at his age and will have I'm sure a lot of new music in the concert. His voice is still a force to be reckoned with.

But you can have this instead:
That Celtic women shit is about as gay as riverdance and yanni,if you like one or more of the three, there is a good chance you have gay tendincies, which is okay, we already have one gay dude on the forumGunbot wrote:Rockindeano wrote:Gun, are you high this evening?

but instead their still playing casinos again this summer.
They played at the greek theatre in LA which is 5,700 seats and sold out two nights which is around 11,400 people total. Why not play a nice indoor venue that seats 10,000 to 11,000, you have much better sound quality and all the people are there one night, instead of two.

They can play em but they would only be half full. Those days of playing arenas are long long gone.
If Perry was with the band, they would still be playing the 10,000 seat venues...no doubt about it.but instead their still playing casinos again this summer.
For a solo tour that's about what they can sell. They played at the greek theatre in LA which is 5,700 seats and sold out two nights which is around 11,400 people total. Why not play a nice indoor venue that seats 10,000 to 11,000, you have much better sound quality and all the people are there one night, instead of two.
Good point on the one night vs two, but there were two acts along with them. I bet you Journey would struggle to sell out the Greek by themselves.

I was looking on Journey's website and noticed they actually are playing some good size arenas in the summer. They will be playing at the reno events center which seats 7,500, Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum seats 17,000 +, Saratoga Performing Arts Center 25,000, and the New Orleans Arena which seats 19,000 plus. I looked and Heart is playing different venues on these dates, so I wonder if anyone will be playing with Journey, and if so who will join them?
