If this were a discussion wherein posters were making fun of Steve's nose, hip, nationality---whatever---then I would go to bat for him. It's circumstantial. When I first considered posting to this forum, I was advised against doing so. I was told I would be a minnow in a piranha tank, and yet I couldn't let it go. I couldn't sit by watching poster after poster beat up Neal. He's a beautiful man. OF COURSE I love Steve too, but Neal's the one the pubic seems to have the problem with, and so I feel I must defend him. For reasons I can't go into, there are certain topics I am forbidden to discuss, but if I could, you'd understand the gravity of the situation. Outside of that, I will say this: It's easy to have an entourage of admirers during the times when things are good, during the hard rocking, bright lights and boozing we all equate with rise to fame. It's the bad times that test the true measure of a friendship. I was there for Neal during both. And I will continue to be. Speaking of "boozing," that brings me to my next point. I think it's awful how some of the people on this site have attacked Neal over the issue of drinking. It's not like he WANTS to be an alcoholic. He's been sober quite a while now and he only mentioned the thing about drinking because he's proud of how far he's come. And so am I. What else can I say? I love him. It's my nurturing instinct. There's just something about holding a cold towel to someone's forehead while they vomit that locks a bond between the two of. Edgy enough for you? If you were there, you'd understand. How can I walk away from someone who's lying on a bathroom floor with tears in his eyes, begging "Please don't leave me here?"
To pinemom: I originally signed on today to address your question regarding Jon. That other post got in the way. I'm upset at the moment, but I do plan on getting back with you. I'm happy that you asked about Jon. He is worthy of his own discussion. He's an unsung hero who often finds himself as a footnote to whatever Neal and Steve topic is going on. I'd like to give him his own post and give him the credit where credit is due. But not today. I have to walk away from this.

Poor Neal, time to start wearing underwear.

omg! i love that THAT'S what you noticed in such a long-ass post! i'm too ADD to read the whole thing. can someone summarize in bullet points for me?

Yeah, never rule out a reunification between Steve and Journey, although if it happens, it will be a one off. Steve and Neal have different thoughts on how the music should be used in commercials and such. Neal's all about letting it fly and Steve wants to protect the integrity of the song, as they're like children to him.

Ummmmm apparently, her good friends Neal and Steve neglected to tell her that SMFP decided to sell one of the kids. Because AWYWI has been used to sell everything from cars to McDonalds to the new AT & T Symphony. I guess she was too busy wiping vomit off of Neal as he lay crying on the bathroom floor. Ohhh Pleeese!

I've been told she is no one with no connections....just good at digging up rumors and info from message boards.

Too hard to read that site so I won't. Pretty sure the guys aren't monks...but why would even a "current" or "part-time" girlfriend be posting on there...be too busy actually being with them wouldn't they?

It was a cold and rainy day here "Right in the Middle". I spent a good part of the afternoon reading those posts which were, well, entertaining to say the least. It was a cross between a Harlequin Romance novel and...well...another Harlequin Romance novel.

Apparently, SMFP lucked upon some vestal virgin, whom he deflowered, and has been stringing along for some 20 years. He's good to her, except when he's being a total bastard. Now, he's not a freak in the bed, but she was shocked, shocked, shocked at what pleasured him.  Then there was some other poster giving us the run down on how SMFP found his now deflowered vestal virgin in bed with Neal, and snatch that ho out the bed, went up side her head, and dragged her off. I laughed so hard at that one, I almost hurt myself. It was a pretty good read for a cold rainy day. :D

Great! Were there pirates and a bastard lord who is trying to get the inheritance his father left him when he died but his evil brothers stole from him so he kidnapped the virgin fiancee of the evil brother who was forced into a marriage against her will to a pervert who lusted after her by her wastrel brother who needed the money because he drank, whored and gambled away all the money?

Yeah, kind of peculiar. I read the article months ago when it was first posted. There were just a few comments at that time, but now it's blossomed and taken on a life of it's own. I had no idea all this was going on either. :?

Like others said, everything the supposedly "girlfriend" said is public knowledge to us hardcore fans ... with some titillating spice sprinkled on. Some people live in a fantasy world, lol  .

Wow, I hope the woman who wrote that stuff doesn't actually believe her fantasy world is real

As Rick said, all of the basic information can be found on the web, particularly in former interviews with the band members, and no one close to the Journey camp would be posting lurid details like that. Anyone want to guess the odds that the poster is also into writing fan fiction?

Exactly. Whoever this is, posting all this incessant block-paragraph crap, please learn (quickly) how to post in a more-readable flavour. I for one will not read something posted in a very uncomfortable fashion. Good luck with getting your point(s) across.

I think if I were the subject of this stuff, I would be more appalled at the kinky fantasies of crazy fans! There was one particular piece of fan fiction I came across once, but I stumbled upon it in such a way that I did not initially realize what it was - I'm sure the expression on my face was hilarious

As Rick said, all of the basic information can be found on the web, particularly in former interviews with the band members, and no one close to the Journey camp would be posting lurid details like that. Anyone want to guess the odds that the poster is also into writing fan fiction?

<<shudders>> Don't remind me. There is some scary stuff out there! I don't know which is worse, the weird-arse kinky fantasies some people have about these guys, or just how appalling some of the writing is.

I think if I were the subject of this stuff, I would be more appalled at the kinky fantasies of crazy fans! There was one particular piece of fan fiction I came across once, but I stumbled upon it in such a way that I did not initially realize what it was - I'm sure the expression on my face was hilarious

LOL - I'm a writer; kinky fantasies I can cope with, but bad writing gives me the heebie-geebies!

Well, I finally worked my way through all that, and it's left me with two things to say:

1. "Jan" is obviously, at best, someone who posted her fantasy and let it get well and truly out of hand. At worst, seriously delusional and in need of treatment.

2. Who is 'Mrs Kravitz'? It's driving me nuts! For the love of pete, please PM me and put me out of my curiosity-inspired misery!

Well, the two things I'm left to say are:

1) Either people in psycho-wards have access the to internet or....

2) they better do a head count cause they've got someone missing.

+1 Everything she said is stuff I've read somewhere. I know tons about Steve Perry, it's all stuff I've read in Q & A's and interviews from Fan Asylum and fan sites.

Yeah, I'm with Gunbot on this one. Whoever it is reminds me of that infamous Crazy Cat Woman. Same chick saying she was having phone sex with AP when he first came over here. Sick motherfuckers. But hey if Portland is lagit, all I can then say is.....welcome to the Journey forum.

Jana? :D

It was actually the Crazy Cat Lady, not woman. Who's Jana? Same person?

Jana's a poster here... and will hopefully read that comment. :D

And when she does, she is going to kick your ass Gid!   Jana's a good girl, don't bring up her name in the same conversation about these sick f*cks!

LLL, thanks for defending my honor. I'm only sick enough to be part of this MR group.

Giddy, I hope your mommy doesn't know what you and Deacon are really up to when you're, quote, in your bedroom just listening to Trial By Fire over and over and over, unquote.

If it sounds as if I'm mostly defending Neal, that's true. But that is only because Steve doesn't need my protection here.

So Portland, do you manufacture and smoke your own meth or are you purchasing it from someone?
