I think just about anyone who's been in the biz or who is in the biz has management.

Depends on your definition of management.

It would make sense to me for SP to not want this to be a huge event, and by shooting his perverbial wad a little too soon, the promoter blew it for us all!!!The idea of him going to Hawaii as a paid performer doesn't seem likely to me. I can see it more as a 'planned' impromptu event. It would certainly be much easier to control on a small island thousands of miles away from some of us loons... (would explain the ticket prices too) Just my totally uneducated idea.

Perry's statement over at The Nut Hut seems to indicate there was never a show planned.

It was like seeing a train wreck coming. We all new the inevitable outcome but just didn't want to turn away.

I saw the post at work before anyone replied. I couldn't stay on, but I new it would be a fun read when I got home. Unfortunately, like you said, I also knew what the outcome would be.

Really?? MILLIONS??!! I'm assuming the only residuals he received from Revelation were from the retreads.
There are people who are privy to every penny of every band member's (past and present) bank accounts. I mean, we get this information from those who have it, right?

No, I don't mean from the physical sales of the album....He probably made about $175,000 from the publishing of the rerecords. I don't know what deal they may have struck with regard to the licensing of the music on the DVD, but that's probably where he made his money - Because they needed his PERMISSION to release that DVD and Perry wouldn't have given that up easily unless there was money to be made elsewhere. But I'm guessing that he knew that the rerecords and the Revelation disc in general would support catalog sales of the older Journey material as well as keep interest high in licensing for Journey catalog material such as the Yes Man and Bedtime Story and Monsters Vs Aliens and Glee Club, etc etc....So really, I'm pretty secure in saying that there really could have been millions generated from the release of that record.
