OT - Joe Lynn Turner accuses David Coverdale of miming

Postby Gordon from Edinburgh » Thu Jun 18, 2009 7:33 am

Did anyone see this?

It was in this month's (UK) classic rock mag - Coverdale retorded by saying "we do not mime - we are just that fucking good"!

I do not believe he would mime but judging by some of the recent youtube clips - maybe he should cos he sounds awful these days - and in his prime he was a wonderful singer.

JLT should learn to shut up.............or bring that damn Rainbow tribute band to the UK instead!
Sorry if i'm ranting but its a wed night and i am getting completely loaded on vodka red bull and Rush on the stereo.....................

Who cares? Both of those bands are diarrhea shit. It would matter if either shit band wasn't so fucking pathetic.

Coverdale needs a 60 pound bag of plaster to fill in his road map face. He looks like he fell asleep on a hot BBQ grill.

Hampden holds 52,000+ for soccer(which sucks btw), and figure another 35,000-40,000 on the field...anyway, only a few singles left.

I asked where you were sitting because if on the grass, bring a song request. After about 6 or 7 songs, Bruce takes sign requests...any song- oldies, newbies, covers, whatever. They just played Santa Claus is Comin' to Town and Beastie boys last weekend at Bonnaroo in Tennessee. Make the sign look good and put some artistic effort into it.

Anyway, if JLT is accusing Road Map of lipping, then I bet my ass he has something on him. Those guys don't throw out falsies and hope they stick.

Point to JLT.

I've never seen Whitesnake live, but from watching the '06 DVD I can't see how his voice would need the tape treatment.

He sounds phenomenal on that disc, and on the live disc that came with G2BB. Of course, all of that can be altered in the studio now that it's the 21st century, but I don't know if I believe that Whitesnake would do that sort of thing.

At any rate, I will be seeing, reviewing, and shooting the band at the Moondance Jam in July so I will be able to judge for myself.

Dude - please let us know how that goes - i was always a fan of Coverdale's voice but in very recent times it has sounded quite finished - obviously official DVDs can dress it up in the studio but you can give us the inside scoop!

You're fucking retarded. The Corrs are in a completely different genre, they all play and sing and write their own tunes, plus they are hot.

They are very hot! And their cover of Ms Nicks' "Dreams" is ok too - sad admission - i saw them support Celine Dion and i loved the whole gig - you can rip me all you like but that lady can sing!

Can i ask - your AV holds a picture of Stevie Nicks. was this a gig you attended/worked at? Did you enjoy if that was the case? Or is it just coincidence she is there?
I'm praying like mad i get to see the mac or Stevie one last time.
Its no secret i consider her to be the best female singer/songwriter ever..............

Yes, all of the photos in that logo are my shots.

Stevie is quite the character, that photo is from a Fleetwood Mac show in March of this year. She was very reserved during the first half of the set, but when it came time for her to sing "Stand Back", she completely let loose and started dancing and singing with all she had. It was an interesting on-stage dynamic to watch, that's for sure.

Really enjoyed the show as well.

Isn't FM headed to your neck of the woods later this year?

I think so - need to look into that - she is still a bit of a prima donna then? (as opposed to a Bella Donna ha ha) Stand Back must piss Lindsay off as its not a Mac track, but she fought to get that song included, which is fine by me as i love it to death.
Sounds like you have a dream job sir. Good luck with the Whitesnake gig - hope you enjoy - and if Coverdale is great then i will happily eat my words.

I saw talk about Coverdale lipping a few weeks back on the Festival boards. Apparently JLT isn't the only one taking about this. I don't see how it affects Turner and why he would feel the need to throw it around unless there is some bad blood already there. Is that the case?
