He should step down, not because he was unfaithful to his wife (what kind of husband and father takes off and leaves his family - 4 kids! - on Father's Day?), but because he left his state in limbo while he went and partied with his bimbo...

Jump on him? Just another GOP scandal. too many to count. His emails leaked out and that was embarrassing to watch Olberman read them on the air. Ouch. At least he was banging a hot long legged tan Argentina chick.
Like Spitzer here is NYS..oh wait....
Yep, Spitzer is a piece of shit. I should have said, cheating and unfaithfulness doesn't bother me in the least. Spitzer, Ensign, and now Sanford- no big deal. Sanford bothered a bit more because he abandoned his state. What if a hurricane was bearing down on it?
Blago on the other hand bothered me because what he did was extraordinarily bad. I don't care what party he hails from, wrong is wrong. it just so happens that the GOP has been much worse lately than the Dems.
Well, I can't say that cheating doesn't bother me, but it shouldn't be a reason to be fired from your job. But leaving without notifying anyone and turning over power, that should be the nail in his coffin.
Blago is just a major kook who saw absolutely NO wrong in his actions.
Blago is a weirdo. I mean, wanting to go on Celebrity Get Me out of Here, or whatever that show was called.
Re the governor, he just might be fired if he took trips at taxpayer expense coupled with disappearing without care to his state.
Though, I read the emails between him and his lover, and you could tell he was deeply in love or very smitten and conflicted. The emails weren't lurid, but very intimate in the emotion between them. The emails were kind of sad because they express that they know they can't be together permanently and yet have discovered all these feelings, and also because here they are feeling this way and his poor wife has no clue, and then to know she will read these and see that her husband is capable of pouring out emotions she probably hasn't seen or heard in a long time, all the while supporting him in his ambitions and the horrible betrayal she must feel. I feel for everybody in this situation only because you're exposed to the public instead of privately dealing with this. People are only human and flawed, and you can be judgmental and holier than thou like he was in his safe little life, all planned out, and then when you are tempted with wild attraction and what you feel is a deep connection, funny how all your morals fly out the window about committment forever and ever, etc.
I don't believe this man is a typical philanderer politician, just getting some on the side. I believe he fell deeply in love, and probably loves his wife, but isn't in love with her and hasn't been for a while. The problem is once you open Pandora's box and experience those feelings you rarely can take them back. His wife found out and instead of staying in town and fighting for his marriage, he left to go see the other woman. That speaks volumes right there. But this man had great political aspirations and now those may be over plus the pain he's caused his sons. If he isn't in love with his wife, she deserves to know and be able to move on and find happiness and not just be his family values spouse for his climb up the political ladder.
