I counted 65 concerts this year.
Wonder what the average take is per gig?

I wonder if they all get together in a little dimly lit room on Sept 30th and divy up the duckets, then go their separate ways.

Pineda probably has a portion of his share going to Bert De Leon, as he is still under contract with him.
I would think that Journey would buy out that contract, but since Arnel is steadfast in his desire to maintain the Philippines as his domicile, he will need De leon's representation for any TV appearances and such he does back at home.

Also, bands normally receive a fixed fix for festivals and since they were not originally headlining any of those festivals, I would expect that the fees barely exceeded their tour expenses, if that. IMO Europe was strickly for exposure, not money. Also, GB it looks like you left off locals crews for set-up/tear down.

I left a lot off that list. When you think of all the shows that Journey did with Augeri and the sold out shows with Def Leppard and JSS, it looks like they should billionaires already, but then you realise how many people make the tour happen and how many slices to the pie there actually are. Of course they will make major dollars but the number of dollars the band actually puts in its pocket is quite a bit from the billboard total that's announced at the end of the year.

I didn't know that. I thought him being officially named as a fulltime member of the band would eliminate the need for something like that.
APIFS: As his manager, what is your role in his present career? What's different with your handling AP now with Journey when he was then with Zoo Band.
BDL: Arnel is now pretty much in the hands of Journey and the team…they've embraced him as one of the guys and they really take good care of him. My role is to see to it that Arnel is protected legally and contractually which is why we hired the services of an entertainment lawyer in LA to represent us in our dealing with Journey's management team and business firm. On the personal level, nothing much has changed between Arnel and myself…inspite of the distance, since I cannot be with him all the time now that he's on the road, we continue to communicate and I still give him advice on how to handle certain situations that he's not familiar with. A lot of things are new to him, in fact, even to me…so we make it a point to discuss and iron out any potential problems and we talk a lot about the future and how this great opportunity will change his and his family's lives in a positive way. We are not just the typical artist-manager relationship, we're more like brother to brother or even father and son in the way we deal

So Bert remains his manager and is responsible for this L.A. team. I wonder how much their retainer fee is?

Looks like this was way before AP became a band member. I do remember something about hiring LA lawyers to deal with the tax issues as well.

Add in the cost of living in a warm weather area like California and it's no wonder AP doesn't want to live in the states. I'm sure that despite the current success, he is realistic and knows Journey is in the twilight of it's career, and he needs to plan ahead accordingly.

Wait, I thought, according to some here...that the band is better than ever and achieving more success than any other effort since 1996?

Arnel is not going to gamble that Ross will still be up there playing that bass at 80? No!!!1

I figured maybe half a million last year. It will be more this year. What that half a mil, if I'm right, dwindled down to after management fees I don't know. But this year I think he's paid more as a full member of the band.
