Add in the cost of living in a warm weather area like California and it's no wonder AP doesn't want to live in the states. I'm sure that despite the current success, he is realistic and knows Journey is in the twilight of it's career, and he needs to plan ahead accordingly.
Wait, I thought, according to some here...that the band is better than ever and achieving more success than any other effort since 1996?

Since '83. This band is better than in '86 and '96....and they are nearly as successful as '86.
96 yes, 86 no . They had four top 20 hits plus one other song in the Hot 100. The album sold 2 million copies. They played sold out arenas, not amphitheaters or state fairs during that tour also.
I am not a fan of Raised On Radio but to say they came close to ROR's success last year doesn't add up. As far as touring goes Revelation's tour barely surpassed what they did in 2006 even though they had to change singers mid tour that year.
They're doing well but to compare it to anything they did in the 80's, I don't see it. Back then, you heard Journey at least three times a day, either on MTV, or the radio. I haven't heard a Revelation song on the radio in months here in LA. Plenty of classic Journey but nothing past ROR on a regular basis.
I think ROR sucked but anyone actually into Journey in 1986, realizes they were still a force in music, albeit slowly becoming irrelevant but still on life support.
