What beautiful kids MJ has. It almost makes you wonder if they were genetically engineered in some way. He had the money....

They're all really, really cute kids. But Huffington Post has about four or five up close photos of them at the funeral, and the little one, Blanket, is absolutely gorgeous. He looks to have Spanish in him or something. In a couple of the photos he is holding a doll throughout the funeral, and I looked closer and finally realized he was holding a Michael Jackson doll. :( How sweet.

I also saw Paris holding an MJ doll at one point.

Liz made a statement why she would not be there, Brooke was one of the best parts of this and hey, at least Corey Feldman showed up!! ;)

As I said earlier in the thread, Where is the consistency? When Susan Boyle was all over the news, G.I.s were still dying everyday in the Middle East, yet nothing from the public decrying the lack of coverage. Now that it's Wacko Jacko being the the focus of attention, all of a sudden there is noise from the peanut gallery.

I get what you are saying. But in all fairness, nothing has been as overblown as the coverage of MJ's death and this memorial. At least not since 9/11.

I am not siding with anyone on this. But it is a sad fact that our pop culture contains our 'royalty'. We are a nation obsessed with celebrity.

Some people just don't have enough to bitch about and will use anything. You're right though. What we have here is a person who dislikes Michael Jackson. She hasn't had jack all to say about soldiers dying in the last 6 years, I bet, but she dislikes MJ and all the attention is ticking her off so she's going to use it to push her newly-invented agenda and pitch a fit. I didn't hear her or anyone else screaming about it when the news was overly saturated with all kinds of other ridiculous crap, like every season finale of Idol, or Britney Spears's wacky head-shaving escapade. I didn't hear this gripe during MJs 2005 trial, where he was in the news every day then, too.

But MJ dies and there are many people who severly dislike him because of the last 10 years or so, so they're going to cry about how he's getting so much attention. Come ON. It's Michael Jackson, what do you expect!

I say, get over it. Turn off the coverage if it bothers you. Not one television in America lacks an off button or a channel changing button. I'm so sick of people having a hissy fit over something that is on tv or the radio in the country. Just turn it off! Jiminey christmas!!

The guy will be in the ground real soon and we can move onto other things like why Palin quite her job as Governor and what's up with a second stimulus package, etc. Soldiers dying in far away lands are still going to be on the back burner as far as the news is concerned.
I think it's just too convenient for everyone to make Jackson the whipping boy here, that's why I am voicing my dissent.

They are trying to work out a deal that allows MJ to be buried at Neverland. There are laws in affect that state you cannot bury a person on certain lands, especially residential. Elvis had to have the same approval to be buried at Graceland. So until that time MJ will not be buried. It is only a matter of time that we have a new Graceland....

You gotta remember too that it’s not as if President Obama is the one calling for all this MJ media coverage while insisting they ignore any coverage of the lives of our lost military personnel. To equate one to the other is like comparing apples to oranges. MJ’s family & friends put together his memorial b/c that is where their heart is. The media elected to cover this event b/c.... well..... that’s where the ratings lie. No television station is going to broadcast a program they know will get no viewers when they can broadcast a program that will.

Agree on both posts. MJ was a great singer and peformer. But did he save anyone's life? Did he develope a cure for some disease? Did he put his life on the line so Americans remain free? Nope, but he did dance, invent the moonwalk and something called an anti-gravity lean, loved to climb a tree on his property, wrote songs and made a fortune doing it.

LMAO at the headline: "Mariah Carey Apologizes for Jackson Memorial Performance"

She should apologize, but not for the reason she thinks.

And what is with that hand of hers? It's like its own entity. She's got some kind of Senor Wences action happening. Annoys the hell out of me. In fact, Mariah Carey even looks like Senor Wences, so I might be onto something here...

Actually, through the MJ charities and involvement with USA for Africa and We Are The World it could be argued that MJ has saved MANY lives. I am also sure there are stories out there of people who feel that his music saved their lives. He may not have been successful in "developing a cure" but he has fought hard to protect the world's children (minus the few allegations) and he has tried to end (or cure) world hunger. But it is true that he is not in the same league as the American soldier. However, to continue to play devil's advocate, it can also be said that many of America's Soldiers were unintelligent goof-offs who had no other choice to make something of their life than to enlist in the Armed Services in the hope's that they would never be called to serve in war.... (I don't personally believe that, but there are definately cases of not-so-noble intentions behind enlisting.)

Funny thing is last night I was on the drunk train on my way home from school last night out of San Francisco, and the train was packed with kids between 15 and 22 years of age, the Giants game just let out. All these fucking kids were just hollering and being shitheads the entire hour ride out. They talked an incredible amount of shit, but one thing for sure, not one of them mentioned MJ at all. Matter of fact, many of the kids were singing songs, none were MJ's. So who was MJ's fan base? None were in the four fully loaded train cars last night that's for sure.

The song she sang is one of my favorite Jackson songs. Not a big fan of Mariah's, but that song puts a tear in my eye regardless. So I can just imagine trying to actually sing that one at a time like that. I thought she did a good job holding it together, but you could see in spots, it was hard to do. I give her an A for effort. In happy times or sad, my emotional nerve endings are always never far from the surface and for some reason some music just touches my soul. LOL, I'm always associating one song or another with everything in life, good or bad.

He has the top nine digital album downloads last week. He has sold more albums the last ten days than Journey has their entire post Perry career. Who ever his fan base is, it's obviously huge.
