And, Welcome! Don't mind the loons, they're harmless ...mostly.

I've heard both plenty of times from Frontiers, never from Journey (I would sure love to see Neal play that IBAWY solo once in person...). Not too big a fan of Deen on IBAWY, though, and he's the one who usually ends up singing it...

See, I Think the sound of those along with Suzanne fit Arnel's voice a lot better than Deen's. Perry was not only developing grit at that point but also a hint of baritone. Deen just stays on the upper atmosphere with no oomph at all when he sings. WITS or Good Morning Girl/ Stay Awhile are the songs I can see Deen really doing a good job on.

It isn't a good representation of Journey

It's no worse than that country song they put on Revelation.

The one Kenny Rogers is buying rights to so he can sing it during a comeback tour?

Cain should have had his daughter do a duet with some other country crooner with that song. I bet it will do better on the charts once it's promoted in the right genre.

Probably about the size of it. Shame, too because the whole album has some of Neal's best and most diverse work.
My feel is perry the producer challenged him and though it likely chafed his taint like a cayenne pepper in the nether region of his drawers, he REALLY responded.

But then Neal would be admitting that Perry was right......and that would be soooo painful!
Are you sure he didnt slip him this??steveo777 wrote:Gunbot wrote:steveo777 wrote:Gunbot wrote:Eric wrote:chrisj1970 wrote:Why does Neal despise GCHI?

Bass was too bumpy, loud, conspicuous.
I do Like Larrie Londin's hard-hitting power drumming, though. More like Deen than Steve Smith.
But overall LOVE that album (though GREAT to finally here Be Good To Yourself with the right Journey bass, VALORY'S, on Revelation.)
