Agreed, Ehwmatt, I love Deen on many songs and some his voice is a little too thin sounding. But I love, love him on Mother Father while playing the drums.

Really, you don't like Happy To Give? I really love that song. :D

You know me, Portland, the cheerleader for Journey music  -- oh, sorry, that's for Neal. Almost everything. Dixie Highway I hate. One of the few songs I don't like Perry's voice on (it Mariah Carey grates) and don't like the song. Not bad for a whole lotta albums. Well, Generations CD I will pass on. Now, even on some songs I'm not crazy about I would still call them good songs. Oh, I forgot that reggae song, too. I will pass on that one. Why did they put that on the Essential Journey cd and not Why Can't This Night Go On Forever? :?

+1 :D

I really love "Happy to Give" also. I also agree that Deens voice is a little too thin for this one, and for IBAWY and "Still They Ride", too for that matter.

Hi! You chose a great name in my opinion! Welcome - be prepared to be ignored and villified! All the best.

Hi there ROR92

Gord and me are amongst the few that are of the view that ROR is Journey's best album. Where do you stand on that?

Now playing: Mitch Malloy - Mission Of Love

Boys, boys. Take it easy. It's a little soon for a litmus test, isn't it? ROR92 hasn't even declared his/her Loon status yet. Give him/her a chance to get settled in...sheesh.

I'm gonna take a wild guess but I'm thinking ROR92's LOON status falls within the Augeri time frame based upon his signature pic.

You have to be a Perry Loon to love ROR.

Hey ROR92, post a link to some of your videos!

8)

Yeah, kind of an oxymoron to love ROR yet have the Augeri lineup as your sig pic.
(j/k) ROR92, welcome.

I think Deen's take on Patiently is good. He's better suited to the early stuff as it doesn't require much baritone, which Deen seems to be short of anyway.

In Steve Perry's opinion, but Neal probably thinks HE is the one making the song sound so great.

I'm sorry to say, if Arnel sounds like Perry sounded in many of these songs, Arnel will be crucified in this board.

On Separate Ways @ 0:33, if Arnel pronounces the word TWO like Perry in the vid, Arnel will be ridiculed.

And what's with the 120 mph tempo, were they in a hurry to go home?

Chubby you a walking a VERY thin line.......so be careful my friend

Thanks for caring?  :D

I was more of a warning

I will wear a bullet proof vest.

Thanks, ROR. Some of those I had never heard. Great. But forget Separate Ways. It sucked at that speed and did not like the rendition Perry did of it at all. Lackluster. Same with Ask The Lonely, damn, it was like a speed contest, but I loved, loved the Jonathan Cain solo at the end of it.
