Journey is about as "latin" as I am southern!

Well, Neal was in Santana. So there is some very minor
Latin influence that came with Neal and Rolie.

I heard Bruce recorded his last live DVD with a roll of duct tape and two unidirectional mics from Vaudeville circa 1932... how did he get that amazing DTS fidelity? He must be just that good!

Don't be a dickhead...I was talking honestly. SA re recorded this DVd in studio. I never brought up Bruce, however, his latest DVd is the best sounding DVD, Live in Barcelona, by anyone without any touching up whatsoever. 100% raw live.

Having said there, there isn't a live album recorded these days that doesn't receive some level of studio magic. Case in point was the Right Here Right Now live DVD/CD that Van Halen did in 1994. According to lore, Alex's drum set did not translate to tape very well during the 2 nights they recorded..and despite Andy Johns' best efforts, he simply couldn't get the drums to sound right when they went back to mix it.
So, IIRC, their solution was to use literally re-record the snare drum, as it blasted through PA speakers in EVH's racketball court....stick a mic at the other end of the court, and pipe that signal back to the mixing console. That, and of course the various vocal overdubs and redos....
It seems to me that your intention is to make the Arrival DVD out to be a sort of "Kiss: Alive" record....which *were* "live" records that were simply recorded in the studio and given the benefit of an "audience cheer track." I'm not so sure that was the case with the arrival dvd. It does appear that the music and a percentage of the vocals were indeed recorded in that building that night, but they brought the tracks back to San Francisco to fix the really bad spots.
