What a lie. Ever sit in a Public Hospital ER? How can you spew that nonsense?
Before they even TALK to you, even if youre dying, they will have you fill out 10 forms so they can find out who is paying the bill.
Incorrect. The Emergency Medical Treatment and Active Labor Act (EMTALA) prevents a hospital from asking any questions regarding payment until a medical screening examination has been performed by a qualified medical professional, and any necessary stabilizing treatment has been given for any person presenting requesting treatment for an emergency condition or if they think the may be in labor.
well I guess theyre not that good in following those laws in my area, as Ive seen it over and over again happen here. Last I went there with major pain and what turned out to be a kidney stone, they wouldnt even let me sit on the damn bed before I had filled out all the forms with my info and my insurance info....
A kidney stone while painful, is not life threatening.
