MVP? They'd typically need a 2D echogram to dagnose it.
I had the same exact condition, diagnosed over two decades ago.
Congenital, but only became a palpable issue when I started living too hard.
When you exert yourself overmuch, the prolapsed valve prevents your
heart from generating enough push, so your heart hammers extra hard
to deliver oxygenated blood to your starved muscles. If your lungs
are in bad shape, it's even worse.
I get a 2d stress echo done every year just to monitor the situation, and
make it a point to get plenty of sleep. Study how to breathe properly,
and for fuck's sake reduce food intake (the smaller your belly, the
less pressure its weight will exert on your diaphragm and thence your
heart, when seated or lying down flat). Fiber rules, because if you can't
shit regularly, that's pressure on your heart again. Caffeine's a fucking no-no.
When I slowed down (read: got married), my situation improved a lot.
I still get the odd flutter now and then, but it's not as bad as before,
