So who were the other 9?

The other 9 were Kiss (who just got in after all), Iggy Pop, Tom Waits, Alice Cooper, Herbie Hancock, Pat Benatar, Joy Division/New Order, Janet Jackson, and Duran Duran.

KISS has been nominated. They haven't been chosen yet for induction.

Alot of people obviously love old men dressing up in halloween costumes wearing high heel boots and spitting blood. Not my thing. Journey vs. Kiss, come on no comparison! Journey actually had more than 2 hits in the U.S. and they can actually sing live. I cant even think of more than 3 kiss songs I know off the top of my head, heck you could go on and on with journey's catalogue. Im not trying to bring Kiss fans down, just saying that its not my thing, and I really dont think they had a huge influence on music. I would agree that they are geniuses when it comes to theatrics and stage shows, and also marketing their name. I would say Chicago had alot more "musical" influence than Kiss anyday.

I completely disagree with you. Paul Stanley has one of the best voices in RNR IMO. At 58 (I think)....he still sounds great!! I just saw them Monday night and their live shows are fantastic. I've never seen a bad KISS show!

RE that excerpt from Life Magazine...How in the world has Journey been eligible for HOF induction since 1980? Didn't the HOF just get invented in like 1987 or something?

Paul had ZERO issues with his voice last night in Montreal. None. Let's put that to rest.

Highlights from last night:
Buckcherry sucks, as that singer strains as he screamed into the mic all night. I can definately see him going down the Augieri/Axl Rose route someday. It was kinda funny though when he turned "Crazy Bitch" into Billy Squire's "The Stroke" and simulated masturbation. I didn't care for how he glorified his cocaine use in his lead in talk to some tune about Cocaine. OK...that was a lowlight.

KISS was great! One hundred and twenty-five minutes of loud metal/theatre! (that's twenty more minutes than The Journey played) The only thing that rubbed me the wrong way was when Paul Stanley announced that while he might only be speaking English tonight, his "heart will be french canadian". Damn...that made me want to take a dump right in my drawers...although the crowd ate it up.

An updated sounding "I Stole Your Love" (great harmonies) and "I Love It Loud" were my favorites of the night. The latter being performed after Gene's demon shaking/booger flicking/blood spewing act and then being raised by cables to the upper rafters to perform that song. Too cool. Someone after the show informed me that Gene had a fear of heights, but that wasn't evident. Paul's hoist that takes him above the audience was broken last night, so he decided he was going to go out into the audience to interact. While beginning his trek, he saw alot of people running down from the stands towards him, so he quickly retreated.

Great show!!!

I sure didn't hear any vocal issues in Cleveland either. Di you get one of the Instant Live CDs after the show? I didn't know they were selling them but I found them online so I ordered one. I'm hoping maybe it will get here tomorrow.

No, I didn't get one. When you walked into the arena, people were at the entrance handing out postcards that detailed all that information. I didn't want to deal with the large crowd congregating where they were selling this after the show. Like you, I am considering buying one online though. Do you have any pics? Once I go through mine later today I'll put some up...although I'm guessing they came out crappy as I used a cheap cell phone from the 27th row.

Z, should they take the make up off then ?

The Fans don't want that.

I could give you a list of bands still around today that are trying to milk every last $$ from the 80's (and 70's) that look "retarded" now.

and by the way, only one member of KISS is in their 60's and that's Gene, who turned 60 in August.
