Wow, I missed that post... I was gone for most of Saturday when this got most of its action. No wonder he's pissed! That's ridiculous.

Exactly. That was my point that on that poster is a blatent ripoff of Journey scarab art. That is also a picture of Hugo and it says "The Journey Show" and no where mentions tribute.... so it's understandable why Neal would say something to him about it. Hugo's band member claims he had no part in it and that may be true but someone is responsible and if Hugo didn't have anything to do with it then he should look into who did.

I mean I know Neal's an off-the-cuff kinda guy as I just posted in the Perry statement thread, but I think my issue is as a professional, he should have kept this one to himself and quietly resolved it through the proper channels. Journey is doing very well touring, there's no need for him to appear threatened by someone like Hugo doing this. Plus, who knows how much digging Neal did before going nuts in front of many fans on Facebook - I am completely ignorant of the origins of the poster, but do we know for certain Hugo made this poster? Or did the venue? Or someone else?

Thanks for clarifying because I wasn't even sure if Hugo took part in the show at all and that maybe someone just lifted his image for it. Now I know he did perform for the show as advertised and that you are only saying that the whole band didn't and that as a band you and the other band members had no part in it but Hugo did. Also thanks for saying you, as well , see the points of contention with that poster. So, this is an issue that needs to be answered to and resolved between Hugo, the club and Neal & Journey.
Although a gig in Hawaii is always nice I'm sure you are very glad that it wasn't an Evolution gig that night at this point.

I professed the love for this band only after they hired Arnel. I was very honest from the start how I got to know and love this band. And you should know it by now.

I will not renounce "my fan-ship" nor you cannot make me buy Infinity or TBF. I have my preference and that is Arnel with Journey. And I really like Neal, as a matter of fact, I am a proud facebook friend of Neal.

ok here it is ..... you want someone from a journey tribute this is the bass player that plays with hugo in EVOLUTION ... out there , this is only the beginnig with this ,,, there will be issuses from this from other type of tributes out there soon , it had to come to this .... i agree that you must present your self proper ,, we can not help ourselsves that we look like the band a bit ,, agian o know we have haters and likers the is life there are more journey tributes out there then ever know ...what should neal do now ....i do not dislike anyone in the band i am just caught in the hugo vs neal cross fire ... ...

Neal has a definite point -- does anyone remember the gig earlier in the year (or was it last year) where Evolution was basically advertised AS Journey? There was a thread here about it, and an article mentioning that many people were fooled and thought they were watching Journey. Some YouTube clips, too. I don't know if that promotion came from the band or the venue, but I'm surprised it still continues.

Yes, I did consider that and commented to that affect by saying that if Hugo had no part of the promotion material for the show then I would think he would want to get to the bottom of it as well. I would think he would have been aware of how he was being promoted and had seen the poster but maybe not. Questions need to be answered though, because someone is responsible....so it's still up in the air on who is responsible and to what if any extent Hugo's level of involvement in the promotion material was or wasn't. He surely had to know at least what the show was being billed as.
