Okay. Here's my review: First, a few superficial things. I agree about the muted audience response. Bad decision. They should, at least, let us hear the thunderous applause at the end of songs even if he mutes it for the actual performance. Weird to see so many people clapping and waving their arms and hear a dulled sound. I could have forgiven Jon his bored looks at times if he had worn a black T-shirt and shown his arms, which are his best feature.

The shirt he wore looked like he was in his garage working on something..
I didn't mind that the video was a little dark. I really liked the moody look of the concert, with the purple and blue lights in the back. This comment is expected by me, but Neal looks better in that concert than he has the whole last two years, really fantastic. A tan suits him. And these guys were sweating profusely by the second song. I remember one of the Filipinos on his site talking about that time of year and how hot and humid it was in the spring there when it was announced it was going to be outdoors.
I loved the catwalk. Wasn't sure about it when I watched poor youtube videos, but it really was a great touch for Arnel and also Neal coming out to the audience. And there was Rip time after time. He should definitely have been listed in the credits.
It really was Neal's night in this concert in so many ways. He poured so much energy into his peformance all night and his solos rocked. He was on fire. The whole band was (well, except for not much expression from Jon

). Deen was a powerhouse.
Re Arnel: I thought his diction problems are greatly reduced. It was a nonissue for me. And this guy works his ass off on stage. To see his growth on stage as a performer from the last DVD, when he was brand new with them, to a year later on this DVD is amazing. He really brought it in this concert and then some. I've said it b/f but I will say it again, for me he is a joy to watch on stage and he really brought such great energy to the stage.
Now to the setlist. It started off shaky for me. Immediately I noticed the graveliness in Arnel's voice in NWA, just not his best on that song. Only the Young, which he nailed in Orlando and his voice was really clear, was very gravelly in Manila in places. Good performance on ATL. SIL I can't remember. Maybe that's the one not so good on in parts, but, truthfully, I can't remember. I would have to see it again. But from then on this concert took off as it built in momentum with great songs and great performances all night and Arnel's vocals really strong. I loved it. The song placement in the setlist was near perfect. KOR was great to hear with Deen. Arnel's vocals were really great on After All These Years. CFTB was truly one of the best of the night for me. The band really rocked in WITS. Loved Arnel on Lights. Still They Ride with Deen one of the highlights for me b/c I love that song. With Neal's extended solo Open Arms was great. Arnel always great on that song. Mother Father should be in every show. Deen is the man. Great decision afterwards to move into Wildest Dream and keep up the momentum. I agree with YoungJRYNY, When You Love A Woman was one of Arnel's best performances of the night. Superb. Arnel always excels on SW and the extended version with Neal's solo really made this song.
What I Needed, truly one of the absolute best songs of the night. Between Arnel's powerful soaring vocals and Neal's exquisite solo it was almost rock opera.
Loved Edge of the Blade (another highlight for me.), Where Did I Lose Your Love, Escape. And, of course, Faithfully. I don't notice a drag that bothered me. Loved it.
I thought Arnel was really good on Don't Stop Believing and actually didn't mind the added part. A lot of energy with the crowd. Neal's solo into LTS is what makes a Journey concert and I thought Arnel did a great job on it. I really enjoyed Turn Down The World Tonight, really strong vocals and melody, and really liked where they placed it in the setlist. BGTY is just a great high energy ending to the concert and just a great jam for the band and a chance for Neal to shine.
