YES - Have been watching 8)

and this reminds me of why the magic is with the original line ups.....it's the history of the songs and with the band all together it makes the music so much more powerful in it's delievery as they have stuck it out together!!!!

Played about five or six songs after announcing that they are going to play two nights to open up the new Meadowlands Stadium in New Jersey. Also announced some U.S. tour dates for spring/summer 2010:

Not everybody in that band's an original member.
NO. He's NOT Steve F'ing Perry. But he's Arnel F'ing Pineda and I'm okay with that.

I believe all but one is an original member and he was fired fairly recently. At the end of the day, it's still the same voice, so nobody cares and nobody notices!

They haven't been the same since. I blame These Days on him not being there. Damn Portland, I thought we had a reunion.

see, These Days might be my favorite Bon Jovi album. Different, for sure, but some real lyrical depth, and probably Jon's best vocals ever. Not sure I would want "These Days, Part 2", but I love it for what it is.

A few years ago, I finally started to like that album. I hated it at the time big time. Jovi was one of my favorite bands at the time and I felt betrayed by that album (mostly because I felt they soldout during that hard time for 80s music fans). But, I actually tried listening to it about a month ago (for some reason) and it didn't do it for me again. Average album. Maybe above average for a lot of bands, but for Jovi it was not good. My evidence is I don't think they've played (or rarely played) a song off of that album since that tour.

I dunno. Maybe I've gotten enough of the Slippery/NJ anthem songs from them. These Days was the mature BJ, and obviously didn't sell worth a darn in the US, thus being why they don't play much of it. They have started doing the title track with Richie on vocals recently however. I have the same feeling on Def Leppard's Slang and X. Not sure I'd want part 2 of those, but it's nice to have them for some depth and change. Something To Believe In off These Days is just a monster.

That being said, BJ isn't a band known to really play deep cuts all that often anyways. They've varied the setlist a bit recently--especially with the Lost Highway tour--but I can't even recall much of the deep SWW/NJ/KTF tracks getting an airing very often.

These Days is my favorite Bon Jovi record. Tremendous, mature songwriting from start to finish. And "This Ain't A Love Song" might be the best ballad they ever wrote.
