I'm 100% on the schools' side. And the parents should be ashamed of their daughters acting like trashballs. It's a school and parenting issue. Personally, I think the punishment was a bit too light. They embarrassed themsleves, their parents, their school and their team. I'm gonna have a talk with them when they turn 18.

I had a good time in HS. I wasn't out trollin for pussy every weekend, spent a lotta weekends jammin w/ friends, which got me decent at guitar, or traveling for my sport. I had my moments though. Plus, it was kinda like deferred gratification with the guitar playing, that still leads to gettin broads interested if I wanna go that route.

Broads in HS are unbelievably dumb anyway, I mean think about it looking back. All that nonsense about girls growing up faster than guys is maybe applicable between the ages of 10-13, maybe 14. It's mostly physical anyway. After that, an average dude is far more mature than an average chick of similar age. The stuff I've seen and still seen on Facebook over the years is hilarious.

EDIT: To illustrate, here is an exchange between two sisters on my friend list, 19 and 21 years old... keep in mind they are putting this out there in the PUBLIC DOMAIN for all to see:

okay I think that you blew our conversation yesterday out of proportion( and i would know cause i blow everything out of proportion) but i was simply offering you advice from my personal expierence. I know you didnt ask for advice and I know your happy and I'm sorry that you feel that I attacked you but I'm concerned and theirs a few reasons why....their not really something i feel like sharing with the whole facebook world though sooo Sorry you feel attacked but it was unintenional to make you cry and upset you!!!

Excuse or not, they're still dumb at that age . That's why I'm glad I didn't waste ALL my time on that shit in HS like a lot of guys do/wish they had done. I got to cultivate a lot of great hobbies and everything else.

Oh, and keep in mind, my example above is are two 19 and 21 year old adults. Pathetic

Well, yes, I didn't disagree.

I never did all that crap, thankfully. I avoided girls like that like the plague. However, going to an all girls school, that left a lot of alone time because most of them were like that. I only wish I was a little taller and more athletic so I could have socked a few of them in mouth.

the poll question... I dont think I have a correct answer here as I am no parent... (no kids) so my punishment would be, if I were a parent is this... to have them publicly apologize to the school for their behavior, do community service and be done with it... but it seems like now its all KNEE JERK reaction... cooler heads need to prevail here.

Yeah, my sisters both went to the public school after going to Catholic grade school. They avoided the all-girls HS like the plague and going by their friends experiences and their experience at public school, they couldn't have made a better choice. The worst.

Even more than wishing I'd discovered women earlier, I far more wish I'd have discovered rock and roll earlier.

By the time I picked up the guitar, I was 18 years old and my fingers were so destroyed from years of football that I couldn't make several chords.

Many times I wish I would've started playing music at like age 8, instead of deciding to go the football route.

As much as I love rockin the guitar, your sports experience changed, molded, and taught you far more lessons than even learning a Dream Theater epic from start to finish could. Those lessons will never cease to instruct you, either.

If there were not already a signed agreement/contract stipulating the required
conduct/behavior outside of school activities/events
when NOT in uniform, you really don't have a leg/arm. This is the PARENTS responsibility.
The school/board will have to work on adjusting the rules for future members/students!!!

Right or wrong, if the policy was set forth in writing and compliance is required to participate, so be it. There is no deciding here.

I don't think they should miss class either, Lu. I think counseling and an apology (which implies their non compliance) is a fair trade off for a lesser 'sentence'. Extra curricular participants are routinely held to a higher standard of behavior. It goes with the territory. Comply or don't be included. quite simply, really.

I wish I would've been out scouting out some clam.

SO TRUE!

Looking back on it now....It's like: WTF were we thinking? Alot of wasted time in HS...to be damn sure!

I was into Ninjas, Tae Kwon Do, and Huey Lewis and the News....Three guesses how I fared, and the first two don't count!!!

HILARIOUS...

we were into baseball, playing golf, football, basketball, getting our hands on playboys... talking about girls more girls and playing pool or cards... and listening to infinity and evolution Journey... ROLIE era... oh and PONG...

the poll question... I dont think I have a correct answer here as I am no parent... (no kids) so my punishment would be, if I were a parent is this... to have them publicly apologize to the school for their behavior, do community service and be done with it... but it seems like now its all KNEE JERK reaction... cooler heads need to prevail here.

If there were not already a signed agreement/contract stipulating the required
conduct/behavior outside of school activities/events
when NOT in uniform, you really don't have a leg/arm. This is the PARENTS responsibility.
The school/board will have to work on adjusting the rules for future members/students!!!

IF I were a parent could I not enforce this punishment to the girls involved... or is that now too harsh of punishment???

I don't think they should miss class either, Lu. I think counseling and an apology (which implies their non compliance) is a fair trade off for a lesser 'sentence'. Extra curricular participants are routinely held to a higher standard of behavior. It goes with the territory. Comply or don't be included. quite simply, really.

Well, as I read it, those pictures got into the hands of someone who brough them into the school environment and caused some issues so in a way it does make it a school problem.

"During the sleepover, the girls took pictures of themselves pretending to kiss or lick a large multi-colored novelty lollipop-shaped phallus that they had purchased, as well as pictures of themselves in lingerie with dollar bills stuck in their clothes as well as other pictures," the lawsuit stated.

In the statement, Darnell said the girls' pictures "were highly inappropriate in content" and that they "caused a disruption within our athletic teams at the beginning of this year's sessions."

If you're going to take pictures with your little friends of all of you playing with penis lollipops and wearing racy lingerie, don't post it on your damn MySpace. Duh!
