Sort of like when Perry became the VOICE of Journey, he got so powerful in the control of Journey because he held ALL the cards. "he had the reins, and they let him run with it." More like he had everyone's balls and they didn't flinch for fear of losing him and all the success they were having with him. Arnel may end up commanding the same kind of control once he figures out he has the reins too.
What character trait has Arnel demonstrated to give you the impression that he would be willing, and more over, even capable of pulling a Perry in terms of control? The guy can't even stop singing Karaoke for God sake. Nothing, and I mean NOTHING he has shown has come close to demonstrating that he has the slightest ability to exert more control over anything. He looks like a kid in the candy store waiting for his mom and dad to tell him what he can buy, and when he has to leave. That is not a knock on him. It's just a realization that I think this guy is profoundly happy doing what he is doing, and nothing more.
Character trait! He is represented by competent legal counsel. He already owns a membership share of the LLC maybe. He's a survivor and should not be underestimated. Being humble doesn't mean he's stupid and his lawyer is already getting him his due. From employment contract to part owner. Not bad for a kid in a candy store.
You're not using common sense. Arnel will never feel he has the right to have a huge say in Journey as far as calling the shots and he now and will always defer to Neal who believed in him and fought for him. They will show him respect and incorporate some of his ideas as time goes on more and more of song choices or variations, but it's Neal and Jon's baby and that will never change. Arnel is too humble of a person to ever feel any differently regarding his place in this 30-something-year-old established band as far as trying to exert more control. Not even in the cards.
