Dang, I didn't mean "angry" in a insulting way--I guess frustrated is the word I should have used. Anyway, you DO have a positive outlook and that's a blessing, I TELL YOU! lol.

Yes, the ghost thing is interesting. I don't know about that either. I wish wish wish there were ghosts or that I might see one because I want to see my mother again.

Like I said...rude comments like this do nothing but stir anger (on both sides)...you ridicule people for their belief with comments like this and then have the sheer gall to wonder why people who have some belief or another react poorly?

This ghost thing is another debate. I can talk ghosts forever, a very interesting topic that can go many appealing ways.. without argument! haha. Ghost's are said to be "spirits that are corrupted" and have a "calling on Earth" and "still have the desire to not leave Earth for whatever personal reason." Of course, religion has to play a big part in this reasoning and calling for ghosts. If anything, if ghosts are proven to be real, and there are things out there that are damn debatable, then that goes against against anything the Bible says of a Heaven or Hell.

How is that rude? If someone said, erroneously, that Alzheimers was a disease of the lymphatic system, and I replied:

Alzhemers falls into the category of Central Nervous System Diseases - would you still say it was a rude comment?

Again, please learn the rules for debate, acquire some knowledge of fallacies, form some cogent, sound syllogisms - then come back and debate me, Stu....

Was that rude enough for ya?

It was rude because it minimizes another persons beliefs as being something not worthwhile and beneficial.

But yeah, you are a rude fuck. All the way around. You and Enema869 deserve each other, no wonder you hop into the same threads and mutually masturbate each other all the time while congratulating each other on how witty you both are.  There was that as rude as you were? Good, I like a level playing field.

You cannot possibly think you could actually debate me and win? And no not on a forum...in person, with an audience and a moderator. I will wipe the floor with you, hell I will even let you pick the topic. Loser buys the beers!

I used to listen to him but sometimes it just got ridiculous; guys getting abducted on air by men in black at Area 51 or guys watching BigFoot from a payphone. Then Art would disappear for months at a time and have these big drama moments. I just got tired of the show after all that.

I wouldn't even know where to begin, lol. They talk about ghosts, crop circles, life after death, religion, 2012, banking crisis, quantum mechanics, Susquatch, UFOs, alien abduction, area 51, JFK, government conspiracies, terrorists, remote viewing, the greys, the reptilians, etc., etc. Sometimes it's so off the wall I can't listen to it, but when Art is on there it's really a pretty darn good shoe, lol.

Paul Noory's been the host for a few years, now. Ian Punnett hosts on the weekends, and once in a while Art Bell guest-hosts via remote from the Philippines, where he lives with his cute, young little filipina wife (LOL). I just started listening again, off and on, around the end of spring/beginning of summer.

The topic roster has been nothing short of diverse, and political/economical goings-on aplenty are examined as well as the paranormal and UFOlogy.

:D . We got some pretty good mileage at work out of some of the stories on there--like alien at the window and so forth, lol!! Sometimes though they will have a pretty thought-provoking guest on there that makes it worthwhile... Art is over most of the drama and he only comes on the show every now and again but boy his guests are always very interesting to listen to..

I'd have to say Michio Kaku is probably the one guest I could listen to without feeling that I was getting someone's biased opinion.

If you're addressing divergences (a lack of consistency between various versions), the King James Version, or KJV, is arguably the worst offender. I wouldn't use that version.

Otherwise, what you're saying seems aloof and could mean a few things. Stop being so vague, duderino.

George (Noory) is the one who has the really off-the-wall guests; I like Ian a lot but sometimes his questions are so long he talks more than the guests. Art though is my favorite--I think he is so insightful that even when he talks about alien contact I listen to what he has to say... George had a guest on last night who compiled some kind of database based on internet chatter and says that he can kind of predict the future with it or something like that. Anyway, he scared me a little. All bad news of course. However, when he referred to the book he had written I felt a little more relieved because that means he might have an agenda and could be wrong. Did anyone else listen to that show?

I didn't listen to last night's show because I usually check the schedule on the website, and if something doesn't sound interesting, I give it a pass for the night. :)

My friends who embrace religion, maybe if you stopped trying to do God's work for him like telling people they are going to hell for instance, being so judgemental (Judge ye not...and all that), and quit shoving you beliefs down peoples throats things would be better?

THANK you.

For whatever I do or don't believe, I don't call people who disagree with me dumb or ignorant. That's not respectful and all it does is create more hostility over an already volatile issue. I may feel a certain way about things, but the fact is, not everyone agrees with me and I can't change it. I can disagree about bible interpretation all day long, but in the end, that's what it is. My interpretation. I'm not going to be put up with being called names for it anymore than people who feel the opposite are going to put up with it if I do it. I've make jokes about the situation or the debate here, but not at anyone. Wait... I have a bad memory - I should go back and make sure before I say that ... ... but I don't THINK I have.

And I've also (I feel) been careful to make sure that when I do talk about groups of people, that I state that I am aware that whatever I am saying does not necessarily apply to all. In most cases, I'm referring to the extremes (on both sides), kind of like Stu just said.

Bottom line... neither side can really prove their argument. My personal opinion though, is that one side has a better argument, but that's just me.

Art has readily admitted numerous times that the show has to be viewed as entertainment first. I wouldn't worry too much about anything the guest say. Treat it like a pseudoscience news serial, equivalent to Mystery Theater (with E.G. Marshall) and I think you'll see what Bell was aiming for with this program.

Really pretty interesting--one of them is a Linguistics something-or-other and he and another guy poured tons and tons of data into this computer program and by parsing out certain phrases or words it predicted the future which by then had already passed if you get my meaning. Anyway, currently the program is predicting all kinds of awful things for next year so I was actually alarmed. Pretty good guests--and I could tell even George was interested 'cause usually he sounds like he's surfing the web while his guests (who are so wacky) are talking, lol. Anyway, didn't mean to derail this thread--they do talk a lot about religion, theology, ghosts and stuff.

Well I see the debate continues............

It is not irrational to beleive in a creator any more than some atheist beleive that an alien came to earth and planted dna in order to start life, because they are stumped by their own law that something cannot come from nothing.

Theories are just that..............hypothesis based on facts. But not all proved. You can no more prove that the world exploded and made everything work together perfectly any more than we can prove God. They both take some faith to beleive. They both have things unexplained.

If I am wrong I am like rover dead all over, I have lived a good life, and I have done no harm. I have nothing to loose. :D

I think this is the most important thing, regarless of belief or religion or which god's jersey you're wearing.

Be a good person, be as fair as you can, don't hurt people, treat people with kindness and love, share, enjoy life, laugh and have fun, be there when someone needs you, treat others just as you want them to treat you. At the end of the day, that's my whole big thing. And I mean that very very sincerely.

Wow. Just stepped into the 21 century have we? What you got there man, is one dumb ass attitude. You got to stop watching Mary Poppins, and join the real world.

A family needs a set amount of money to function - and who makes that money? Yeah, the parents. You can't really think that daddy John is going to play with Fido and little Jack all day, while mother Kate is going to cook the most delicious of stews while quilting a cute towel with her ass, while the money just flows into their bank account?

I'm not saying you can't do both, sure, but you can't expect to both get that cute ass quilted towel, and a bank account stuffed like a thanksgiving turkey. I would even dare to say that what is "ruining" a core family is uneducated and lazy parents who's got the welfare on speeddial, who teach their kids to not do a damn thing. Who cares if the kids sit down and chill with some xbox or a movie - are you really so way off that you rather think kids should read L'Étranger or Poor Folk?

Right. Please pack up your shining medieval armor, and fly back to the dark ages.

Why don't you shut your mouth you fuckin shithead and go coat your asshole with some yogurt and granola and try lick it off you fuckhead.

If people can't raise their own kids, they shouldn't have them. Pure and simple. They can chill with an Xbox as long as they go do something productive with the rest of their time, not do that pointless shit all day (I own an Xbox FYI).

I'll pack up my medieval armor but how bout you jump on my fuckin broadsword asshole first? Nahhhh you'd probably like the anal penetration too much

You're making it too god damn easy, man. Not only did you loose what little point you had, but you managed to seem like a real sissy boy, going all psycho the second someone comes up with a better argument then you. ... Next!

There's two opinions, mine and yours, no arguments you big fruity fag.

If you go back and read what I wrote, I acknowledged that some couples both need to work out of necessity. But I know plenty of well-to-do couples that both work just for the sake of it... or on the flip side, working is fine, but then when they come home after their shfit, they go out and drink 4 nights a week and don't take kids to after school activities or spend time with them. That's objectively bad parenting.

Puhleez. Where did you get that? No wonder you're confoozled.

I don't even know what you're saying man. Confoozled? Are you on crack? You're better off talking in Old English my friend, maybe you'd make more sense.

I was just makin a haha, but like BJG said, no side can prove their point of who's right or wrong. Fact is, when you put up logic vs logic then I believe religion doesn't stand a chance when talking straight logic of what actually happens in this world, God or not. In fact, it's Atheism that uses nothing but logic and brainstorms to the point where they use things that are actually proven or having some strong artifacts to support an arguement to their advantage. Religion, eh, not so much.
