You said you want to write a sitcom, Drew, so I had a dream last night that gave me a sitcom idea for ya:

You could be the level-headed, firm but loveable straight guy who recently lost his job & now that times have gotten tough, you had to downsize from living in your sprawling thousand acre mansion to renting a cramped apartment.
Me & Steve could be the wacky gay & gay-friendly neighbors who live across the hall & drive you crazy everyday.... always visiting unannounced.... always asking, “Whatcha doing?” You’d love to hate us but that soft spot in your heart just won’t let you.
Meanwhile, your kids can’t get enough of Steve’s cat, Carl, & they’re always begging you to let them go across the hall & pet him. Carl’s constantly getting loose & one day when you open the door to your apartment, Carl goes running inside jumping up on top of your computer’s work station scattering about all the papers to the Journey manuscript you’ve been writing, thus destroying all the hard work you’ve invested. Just when you’ve had enough of Carl & you’re ready to rid yourself of him once & for all, you remember the manuscript back-up you have saved on your computer’s hard drive.
Crisis averted. Everybody is friends again. We all go out & have drink together & laugh about the day’s events.
(That was supposed to be funny. I'm not a very good writer but I try.)
