Mel and I are lucky, we're short so our friends feel bad and HAVE to let us ahead. (at least they better feel bad!)
If that's the case....I am 5'1" so I want the front too.....![]()

See, we laugh, but seriously, it's always frustrating for me. I struggle just to be able to see what's going on at standing only shows. It's hard enough for me being in a standing crowd like that for other embarrassing reasons, but that just adds to it. I remember the (now legendary) MR weekend in Cleveland, at the Journey show, we were in the front and Dan, who is a frickin' skyscraper, looked down at me from up there and made this face like "you poor little thing" and let me stand in front of him.

I totally get the crowd thing....when you are little like us and people are drunk and pushing it can be scary....I was in the front row at a AC/DC concert and that was one of the most scary experiences I have had...I was bruised the next day!

I was dragged to a Gwar show once, right around the time my whole panic thing was starting to show itself. it was so bad, my friend and I both got hurt and I ended up punching a guy. The next time I went to a show like that (I wasn't into that shit, but 5 of my friends were so I got dragged) I stayed in the back with a drink in my hand.

See sometimes I prefer the back....I can't see but I have way more control of my surroundings that way....in the front the view is great...the exit strategy no so good!

And the line-up is really coming together....just have to hear back from most, but if they all are go....it will beat MRF1 easily.
Is one Rosemont Theatre and the other The Vic ?
I'm thinking either Joe's on Weed St. or the Double Door. Maybe even the Rialto Theatre in Joliet and perhaps Paramount Theatre in Aurora. Can't wait to find out where it will be.
Looked at Joe's - but won't be doing it there.
What are folks general thoughts on a General Admission show - standing only? (With facilities to eat and sit down next door...)
The VIP idea still stands, but obviously won't have a "best seat" element to it.
Went to a concert at House of Blues in Chicago, had a nice dinner and then stood for the show. I think there was a VIP section up on the balcony. General admission was on the floor. I thought that worked out pretty good
House of Blues is very $$$$ to rent. So that is not an option.

No. Andrew said suburbs and you guys are looking at Chicago venues.
the Park West would be cool though. Might be too small.

I wonder if the place might turn out to be Durty Nellies in Palatine IL. I saw Steve Lukather there last year, and it was a pretty nice place, probably same size as Joe's on Weed St.
