Come on. If you got a medical condition, then sure - it's a whole different story. But seriously:
Losing weight is not hard. Living healthy and working out is the easiest and most fulfilling thing in the world. It's simple: stuff your body with more energy than it really needs, and you put on weight - it's that simple! It's so typical of overweight people to whine and bitch. Being overweight is extremely egotistical: Fat people have a greater chance of getting dangerous, life threatening diseases - thus hurting stuff like the job marked.I promise you a fit, healthy person got less sick days than a overweight man/woman And you shorten your lifespan and the different activities you can do - so if you got kids, you not only make yourself as a bad role model, but you run the risk of dying early cause your heart couldn't take it anymore. And it's not about stuff you like to eat. Fuck, if I could choose I'd eat fries and chocolate cake all year long - but instead I eat healthy, boring stuff. Why? Cause the rewards are that much bigger. (This is not directed at you at all, just a general rant/evangelical sounding preaching)
You are fortunate to have a job where where the environment favors you being able to be physical all day (I'm being serious, I didn't mean to be rude earlier, I was actually trying to be funny and failed miserably). I agree that exercise is fulfilling, but there are people in professions that work 60-100 hours per week, wearing a suit, high heels and even traveling. It's NOT that easy to find time to work out frequently, and if you have a significant other and kids, there's even more to do. Yes, obese people do have lower life expectancies, but there are issues of quality of life involved as well. There has to be a balance between artery-clogging, empty calorie foods and the "healthy, boring stuff. "

I told Parfait in a PM that I am not mad at him, I just wish he would understand like Portland said not everyone can loose weight quickly, or easily. I agree we would all be better off if we were more fit. But I am so glad my husband is not shallow and loves me just the way I am. He knows I try every day, and it is a painful struggle for me. I used to be so thin. I am puttng a pic of me when I was thin and what I look like now. Trust me I live with this heartache every day.![]()

As a dancer, I’m fortunate not to have to deal with weight issues (yet) b/c .... like it or not .... I hafta exercise like a mad man. I don’t get to have too many off days. And YES, I do believe that if I were to stop dancing & continue eating the way I do, I would start to gain some weight.
Having said that, I find it strange that it’s always the thin people who’ve never had to diet who seem to know exactly how to lose weight. And before I get criticized, ..... (Parfait ... Matt) .... I’m not talking about losing 10 or 15 measly pounds so please don’t come back at me with your heroic story of that one summer when you chunked all the way up to 150 & had to drop a few by running track. I’m talking about those who’ve lost a significant amount of weight.
A thin person telling an overweight person how to diet is about as credible as say, me, telling someone how to quit smoking, or say, a person who doesn’t drink telling an alcoholic how to cure themselves.
I find it amazing that the so called diet experts always seem to come up with new & improved ways to curb someone’s appetite: “Here, eat 'this' & you won’t be hungry.” To me, that makes about as much sense as telling an alcoholic, “Here, have a great big glass of water & you won’t be thirsty.” I’m no expert on either vice, but I’d be willing to wager that an overweight person doesn’t overeat b/c they’re hungry anymore than an alcoholic has a drink b/c they're thirsty.
I think when you’re addressing the issue of losing weight, some people tend to oversimplify the problem. I think it’s much more deeply rooted than casually telling someone to cut back on their consumption while increasing their level of activity.
That's my

It's not just about being healthy and living til you're 110. I have a bad family history with heart disease and my dad had to get triple bypass at 50 despite being very active and never being overweight [though not the best eater] his whole life... that could easily happen to me even if I never gain any weight. Hereditary cholesterol is a bitch.
It's about feeling better day to day and long-term. You sleep better, you release tension, you have more energy day-to-day, more focus day-to-day etc. Exercise has always been both a great time management tool and a great stress management tool for me. I never feel overly stressed, ever, and I'm neither the most easygoing nor the most uptight person. I chalk it up to staying on a gym schedule more than anything else.

Moral of the story? I'm never buying a frozen pizza again

I think this is a good idea - it's all about finding something sustainable that you can do. If you feel too deprived, you can't possibly follow that plan - it's just not human nature to be perfect in what you take in. Even cardboard Ehwmatt probably has some nutritional value - LOL!
