Where she gets recognition is she writes all her own music and is very talented that way. Her album was huge, but was aimed at teens. So surprised it won for album of the year.

Here's what Rollingstone had to say:

"Swift is a songwriting savant with an intuitive gift for verse-chorus-bridge architecture that, in singles like the surging "Fifteen," calls to mind Swedish pop gods Dr. Luke and Max Martin. If she ever tires of stardom, she could retire to Sweden and make a fine living churning out hits for Kelly Clarkson and Katy Perry."

What are you talking about? Really?

Rock legend Neil Young, "Family Ties" actor Michael J. Fox and crooner Michael Buble were the Canadian winners at this year's Grammy Awards.

Fox, who was raised in Burnaby, B.C., picked up the prize for best spoken word album for his reading of "Always Looking Up," a memoir about his battle with Parkinson's disease.

Steve Martin, the comedian picked up the Grammy for best bluegrass album for the Crow/new songs for the Five String Banjo.

Well yaay for MJF and Steve Martin...For real. I've been a fan of Steve's banjo since I first owned "Let's Get Small" on record at the age of 7 or 8 and heard him play Foggy Mountain Breakdown.

Just need a moment to vent about the Grammys last night - I stayed up the entire show and the only categories aired were those that Taylor Swift were nominated in and won most  Each year it becames more and more about commercialism and popular performance and not about honoring worthy music. None of the categories I was waiting to see were mentioned - and for another disgrace, "The Wrestler" losing to "Jai Ho" :o Very happy Springsteen won Best Rock Vocal but not happy I couldn't see it :x
