Where she gets recognition is she writes all her own music and is very talented that way. Her album was huge, but was aimed at teens. So surprised it won for album of the year.

Rock legend Neil Young, "Family Ties" actor Michael J. Fox and crooner Michael Buble were the Canadian winners at this year's Grammy Awards.
Fox, who was raised in Burnaby, B.C., picked up the prize for best spoken word album for his reading of "Always Looking Up," a memoir about his battle with Parkinson's disease.
