he recorded (at his house) the Hunchback album. But he didn't tour for a long time.
There actually was a long period where he wasn't doing anything. He (like another singer) wasn't a touring guy. Didn't like to tour.
Kept Styx from doing more shows than they did. He did solo albums, but no shows. He's only just recently (within the past few years) gotten back out on the road, but his tours are very small affairs compared to Styx (a touring machine). He did his latest album over a year ago, and before that, nothing since Styx's BNW, which has been quite a few years. Wait, he also did the orchestra Styx thing, but it was only a few shows.
You mean Styx and the neverending tour since 99? Dennis started touring not long after he got kicked out of the band doing some fantastic symphony shows and a few shows with fellow former Styx member Glen Burtnik and doing some "Lost Treasures" show also. He's prolly been more active recently with his redux of his Hunchback show and very recently with the "101 Dalmatians" on Broadway as well as doing a few shows here and there. No he's not over-saturating the market so to speak but he's still pretty active for being (almost) 63 years old

Fixed it your ya. Burtnik 1 I no c

Why does Styx constantly touring present an issue for folks? It'd be great if they'd do another new album as Cyclorama rocked, but they've pretty much said that since there's no outlet for it, it really doesn't make sense to them (I don't agree with that. They could sell many through their web site and cut the record company out of it).
Regarding Dennis- It took him a very long time to get back into the live game. His tours are very short affairs. Nothing like what Styx has been doing. I guess if 101 Dalmations and Hunchback is what you want out of Dennis, then there's no problem. I would rather see him doing new ROCK records. Having said that, his latest album had a few really great rock songs on it. It also had some terrible "Suzanne filler". The rest was decent.
And again... the age card comes up. I guess people should just quit performing when they're 30???
I'm not saying Dennis hasn't done anything. I'm saying that since 97, it took him a LONG time to get back in the ROCK game. His first non-broadway album only came out last year. That's 12 years after his last Styx show. That's a long time to not be doing anything in my book. He did a VERY FEW classical and lost classic shows, but not anything like a major tour (which he's never really liked doing).
Now, it looks like he's getting back into the swing of things. I hope so and I hope that he does some more ROCK stuff. It would be cool to see him at the Superbowl, but I doubt it would ever happen and hopefully, if it did, Mr. Roboto wouldn't be the song he'd pull out.
