It wasn't him, it was the writing that was ho-hum. He wasn't given music to really showcase his voice. It just feels like a rushed album to me.

He's been nominated before but since he only has toured with Journey and never been out there pushing his own stuff like other guitarists who have continued after their bands have passed on, he really Isn't revered as much outside of professional music circles. When you mention Journey, a lot more people will know who Perry is, or even Arnel for that matter as compared to Cain or Schon. If Neal toured SOLO for a few years UNDER HIS NAME, I guarantee, the media would be all abuzz about how finally got away from the bubble gum pop rock that defines Journey and was proving himself to be one of the finer guitarists out there.

It was a rushed album. But there's some good songs on there and one of their best ballads ever, TDTWT.

I had originally heard March.

Do you understand how retarded that sounds? Arnel's vocals made Revelation.

Probably. I'd say don't listen to any of the shit you hear out there. There is a new album coming out and there is a big world tour planned for 2011. Those are not things you plan for when it is known that a member is on the way out. I understand there are a handful of dissenters out there over a few different forums who would like nothing better than for this news to be true, but they are a major minority. Even if they got their wish, then what? It's not like just anyone can carry the Journey catalog though a world tour. Some people need a reality check.

Chubby seems to be right. I haven't kept up lately and it looks like that's the word now. My point though was really about the new album -- he's not going anywhere.
