At least people in the media are starting to defend Arnel's rendition.
Arnel might want to consider moving. The downside to that is that his money will go nowhere near as far as it now does.
I agree.
Probably Arnel is getting used to criticisms, he also had done more for Journey than any of the other replacement singers but still.......
Rethink that ridiculous line you just wrote and get back to us in 15 minutes. I mean, seriously now...C'mon?

Yeah I know you were, and I get your drift. I like Pineda, a good dude. However, you do lose on a technicality.
1- Steve Perry is actually a replacement singer, so yeah, you lose big time on that one.![]()
2- I was going to say Steve Augeri did more for them because he actually kepth them alive for 6, 7 years. I do know Schon appreciates that- he told me so.
3- And if you think about it, Soto had a very big role in saving Journey- had he not came in to pinch hit in the bottom of the ninth, on a nationwide tour with Lippard, Journey may have never rose again.
But don't get all teary eyed Chubbs, I did say I like Pineda.

I have to disagree - didn't come off as unsportsmanlike at all live, and got a huge laugh. I've seen boxers do similar before and it always works well for an audience. Once was a Julio Caesar Chavez fight where his opponent was in constant retreat beginning to end. Chavez just stopped and dropped his hands and looked at the guy with amusement. Just a way of saying c'mon, do you want to fight or what, with a bit of psychological effect as well.

Arnel’s rendition
Ironically, the day’s heartiest cheers probably went to Arnel Pineda, the Filipino frontman of the US rock band Journey, who sang the Philippine national anthem in the pre-fight intros.
Arnel Pineda scores a knockout
http://sports.inquirer.net/columns/colu ... a-knockout
This nameless fan had a point when he said the Journey’s Arnel Pineda outshone Manny Pacquiao
out there in Arlington, Texas, last Sunday.
Pineda, who delivered with gusto in singing the national anthem, was a knockout.
Pacquiao was not.

I get what you're saying, but what Pacquiao did was actually against boxing's rules. What Chavez did wasn't. I think Manny was frustrated. Either way, no big deal.

It did not determine the final outcome of the fight one iota, so peeps need to find something else to hang their hats on. They could disqualify the fight and make them fight another 12 boring rounds with the same outcome.![]()

He sounded great at the venue, and the crowd went nuts. Interesting that nobody pointed out those three Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders who LIPPED the Star Spangled Banner big time (unless I missed any comments). Maybe people weren't watching their mouths, because they weren't even moving in sync with the voices.
I got great video of both songs.
