i think it was shown that folks were not against the reform bill once the truth was put out there. the gop really went to town with the smears and lies (death panels, baby killers, etc....)

i think the american people, the tax paying people, deserve the same health care plan as the people we vote into office, plain and simple.

Agree.

IRONIC statement... ;-)

do tell, where do you see irony?

has anything ever been good about a govt run program? you think 940billion dollar price tag is guaranteed.... no way... I see the cost to about 3 trillion in five years... and that is just for starters...
to me...I am no expert on health... but will any of the cost go to those who need it... NO... the costs will go to those who run the program... you wait and see... in the last two years in Iowa... we have had
two govt fraud situations... both by people who should never have been appointed to head their departments... one was a iowa jobs site... the other was for the state school boards... and in both cases... the funds from the govt went to the leaders in RAISING Their own salaires... to bonuses for the department... just saying this will be how health care in govt will be handled...

Wrong on all counts.

First of all, THOSE WHO ARE IN CHARGE right now, have the best healthcare available to them. So this wont benefit THEM one bit.

Its funny how people like you , try to fight for medicare, medicaid and social security and saying that this new bill basically will kill the social security etc,,,,,, but let me ask you this,,, isnt medicare, medicaid and social security , all government run programs and so far successful for those in need?

Last but not least, you have not lived in a country where the government assisted healthcare works perfectly, so all youre trying to warn us about are things that Limbaugh and his fans try to preach. The reality is far from these false warnings. The truth of the matter is that if we werent getting ready to make a change once and for all, we would see more people losing all they worked for all their life , because of one surgery.

If I were you, Id be more openminded and welcome ANY ideas and options to fix what we already got. Its a long way to go, but we have to START somewhere.... you cant just let crap pile on top of crap and pass it on to the next generation.

bravo,

only because there is no other choice... and perfect for who... the govt becasue the PEOPLE ARE DEPENDENT on that way of life...they have WON that battle with people, for them to be dependent... which is what govt is PERFECT ACT if you let them...

THOSE COUNTRIES and people who live in them... HAVE ALWAYS BEEN DEPENDENT ON GOVT RUN EVERYTHING... that is your first ERROR... if they had their choice...they would pick freedom... and choice... over perfection of govt run programs...

There you go talking out of your ass again. Sweden and its people have a lot more freedom than here. You think they wouldve tolerated a fiasco like Bush cheating himself into the office TWICE and start a war that most people were against it to begin with. And theyre not dependent of the government,,, they put their trust in the government and the government doesnt misuse that trust . After all, with what youre saying, if we cant trust our own government, and the governement shouldnt do anything for people, except bail out banks , then why the fuck do we need a government ??

Most people are against this health bill as well.

I guess so, in Bush country.

The first Medicare cuts go into effect in September, supposedly...do you actually think they will do this??? You are putting yourself in their hands, and TRUSTING them...the VERY Government you on the liberal side say betrayed you with the Iraq war, but you are going to TRUST them to cut $400 BILLION out of Medicare? It's political suicide if they do so. They know it, so guess what...they won't do so.

This USA right now shouldn't try to finance a loaf of bread because polticians spending OUR money like there was no tomorrow. Sooner rather the later the well will run dry, if it hasn't already.

So all you liberals who haven't given so much of a thought about anything but the "free stuff" you are getting think on it now. The CBO scored this dependent on the Medicare/Medicade cuts taking place, they won't which means it isn't deficit neutral or deficit reducing. In fact it will do the OPPOSITE as the new taxes (and Health Insurance companies go out of business) drive GDP into the shitter, the governments chunk of pie gets bigger, and the amount of money required from GDP to service our national debt grows so big that WE CAN'T PAY it (Just the PAYMENT of INTEREST on the debt will be ALMOST $1 trillion by 2018)...you think this recession has been bad??? Wait until you see what is coming. See Wienmar Republic 1920's where people BURNED money to stay warm, because it was more cost effective than buying wood. Where a WHEELBARROW full of money bought a loaf of bread. It's coming sooner than you think.

So laugh and applaud and your enjoy the little victory...the Democrats in congress just ended our way of life...the problem is we won't see it until 8 years or so from now...but we are just a corpse twitching with the last vesitiges of life. As TNC said, sit back and watch the greek tragedy unfold.

But you are all too myopic to look to the future that this has brought us. You just want your free shit.

the smear campaign did not work. i don't claim this is the perfect bill, not at all. what it does do is right some wrongs that are long overdue. anyone that thinks anything is free is delusional. medicine, procedures, etc all cost money. a person paying premiums and expecting to have coverage for something, blah blah blah..... folks should not lose their shirts because they get sick. we already pay for the uninsured. we need to move forward and this bill starts the movement we need. there will no doubt be issues, but to deny reform of the industry is much more costly.

I bet you wouldve said the same thing when they voted for medicare/medicaid,,, and seems like the government run medicare/medicaid did work for a bit longer than those who were skeptical about it thought it would,,,,

THINK POSITIVE and have some fucking hope, instead of being a sourpuss and going with the attitude of " not worth fixing it, cause the fix may fail",,,,

but in your previous post, you keep saying we want free health care and then surgery won't be covered for free. :? Everybody I know for it are looking forward to the same coverage Congress gets, which will still cost me plenty I'm sure, just way more affordable than the astronomical prices I'm paying for coverage. My sister is looking forward to some affordable insurance since her husband lost his job and her daughter has preexisting since birth and my sister has preexisting herniated discs. People can keep their own insurance. Nobody is getting rid of the private sector.

Care to explain !??
Youre telling me that you havent had any of those single moms coming there give birth and have to pay $0 cause medicaid helps cover for it all?
and how does your elderly pay for their visits? Idaho potatoes??

Or are you suggesting that because of medicare and medicaid, you dont get as much money from people as you would from Anthem , and it bothers you that you cant get more money from already drained patients?

Behshad, you might as well change the title of this thread to "Republican Paranoia." It's funny watching these clowns freak out about nothing. It's so funny watching them get it completely wrong, still trying to smear the facts of the bill and make it look like it is a bad thing. LOL, I love this. It's a good bill, will accomplish a ton; no more premium hikes, pre-existing conditions will not matter any longer, no more denying coverage for any reason. It will save enough money, by ridding the corruption and fraud in the insurance industry and also with the emphasis seeing a doctor before you get sick, instead of waiting until you're sick, and no more use of the ER's- it will pay for itself. It's the right thing to do. Having 32 more million Americans enjoying the safety and piece of mind of affordable insurance, is worth it alone. This will help everyone, except the top 2%, the people who don't need help.

Stuart, you need some valium. Relax, and put the Limbaugh letter away dude. Lights, you are so far off it isn't even funny.

It has the support of AARP, USMA, and countless other entities in the industry.

Don't like it Pubbies, tough shit. Move to Costa Rica and enjoy life.
