Neal and Jon could shit brown corn flakes and you would be first in line, or 2nd behind Mothertheresa13joepa in congratulating them on being "awesome."
Come on Jana, be fucking real for once in a row! I ought to spank your ass.

Uh, Deano, the perfection was really meant for Perry's vocals on that particular song. If you would stop digging your heels in and listen to some classic Journey again, you might redevelop an appreciation for these songs.

I know Jana, but Neal is still part of classic Journey, and well, he is a stain on an otherwise damned good band, so I can't go there. Valory too for that matter...but like he said, "I am an alcoholic" though
Says the guy who snorted his way to bankruptcy, and covers up his very mediocre bass playing by shooting water pistols like Quick Draw McGraw.
I don't know Neal as you do, Dean, but come on. Don't downplay what Neal did, and still does for the band. As far at Valory goes; most of you already know what I think of him. He's unimaginative, soulless and mediocre. Same goes for Castronovo. I've always preferred vintage Journey (not that crap pre Perry, but the stuff from 77-80) and Deen doesn't fit in with that at all. He's a metal/hard rock drummer. Journey isn't hard rock - it shouldn't be anyways.
But Steveo is right about Arnel
saving Journey. They wouldn't be as successful today without the shitload of publicity and coverage they got from Arnel. And the brigade of tiny little Filipinos that's worshiping Arnel as the new coming of the fairy god Bathala kinda helps too. Neal's got his own tour for experimenting and being creative - there's no place for that in Journey. The common fan wants to hear Open Arms, not Wind's of March or I'm Crying (Both awesome songs.)
Like I said....it's the Journey of today.
It's not my Journey and it has not been for a long time....I guess I have come to the point of acceptance
and well I can listen to the Winds of March anytime I want to...and do!
Like I said before I like my bands with the lead singers that made the music, for me that is where
the magic was made...unfortunately some of my favorite bands had members who can't get along..maybe
that is why the music was so damn good! They are passionate people who put that into their music...but
it also made them the type of personalities that are not ones to compromise on the music or with each other.
That is what made them ALL so great...and irreplaceable. IMHO
I don't know. Maybe most bands didn't get along a little bit when making music, but they are still hungry in the beginning and have a common goal together and I think are friends for the most part. Then they get rich and they've been together a while, and egos are involved, and have relationships or marriages, and usually substance abuse issues, and it takes a toll. Like a long-term marriage with major issues. It's really too much to expect that the majority of bands would still be together past their youth and hit-making era. They get married/divorced/kids and they're sick of each other when they're grown men and don't want to travel the better part of a year with them or creatively want to delve into other areas.
I look at the ones still together as a miracle.
I agree with this.
It is just a matter of personal taste.....we all have our favorites! Deb got lucky with Mr. Big........

Now wait a minute Gael. I only ride Valory, not because he sucks that bad, I mean he isn't that good, but he hits the right notes I suppose, but he's nothing to write home about- anyway, I ride that wrinkled paper looking face of his for a good reason. I actually call him Atlas now, because his grill resembles that of a road map. In Boston, Ross and I sat down and talked about what happened in Fakegate, and he was cool to it, until Neal basically said it's ok; anyway, Ross was great. Partied with him, hung out one on one, did all that shit, chugged beers etc etc..it was a great time. I informed him that you know, you guys fucked up, let's move on yadda yadda yadda. Ok, so we moved on. I mean, I moved on. That sonofabitch opened his piehole with an European fishwrap interviewer, and instead of deflecting questions, doesn't go general vague, or just be non chalant about all of it, he gets loose and calls me an alcoholic. Um, okay Ross. Like I wouldn't see or read this? So now Mr. Valory wants me to close my mouth? LOL, ok dude. It's a shame too, because of all 4 of those assholes, I thought he was the best guy out of them all...in fact he probably still is, but that's not saying much. We all know about Friga..he comes in last. Neal is right on his heels and Deen is a surprising third. You all think Deen is this quiet, faithful loving band brother...I got news for you, he is no such thing. Now of course that tampon RobbieG will come busting in here discredits all my smack, like what that asspimple says is taken seriously?

The only guy on RobbieG's jock is Red13Joepa..They were made for each other; two spineless timid fags, who will suck at the Journey teet til Neal says to stop. Pathetic Dolly Madison's, both of them..LOL @ those two idiots.
Parfait, continuing on, I don't want to be seen as some bitter basher for bashing sake, and I am going to really tone it down, but Neal...man that guy. I am just shaking my head at him right now..LOL, we had some fun times together, and he was real cool when I was his guest..no real need to blast him here, not now, but to your question P-
When I say I can't listen to classic Journey even..Dude, it's hard for me, because yes, there are a lot of good memories, and the music was that good, and he can play the axe quite well, but Goddammit..why am I the only guy here who thinks playing to a tape is criminal? Why do the rest of you give them a pass so fast and so easily? It makes me look like Mussolini, when all I want is for people to understand what happened and to examine the case. I just don't think this is something that can be nor should be swept under the rug...Dammit, but all of you here, save for a handful, just want us to shut up and pretend it never happened. Sorry man, the answer to that is a simple "no." Personally, and I have explained this 100 times, and I am not even a rock star, but I respect the entity that is rock n roll and music in general, and for a member of the community to piss on it like they knowingly did. Yeah Neal is awesome, but that doesn't excuse him from that act of bullshit. It surprises me too, that many of you here who give them a pass, are hardcore music lovers, some being players too. That's what really bewilders me. The sports friends I know certainly don't give MLB players a pass on roids usage. Ok, back from a shit break that took just under 45 minutes, so I lost my trrain of thought...to be continued-
