Perry really sings this differently here. Not nearly as subtle as the Escape tour, but still way good.

MY GOD is this an emotional delivery! This is the one and only time I heard his voice crack while singing....it's at the end on the word "hoping"....to me, it looks like he's gonna start crying....

Is there an entire video of the show available? Somehow, I've missed it if there is.
I so agree w/this ...prime example, Mariah!! She replaced the heartfelt passion/emotion w/squeals and vocal gymnastics, leavingcyndy! wrote:open arms is not one of my favorite journey songs, but i loved this performance. he sings it with a bit more lightness & love than most other people who cover the song. i've heard way too many tense, almost angry sounding versions - like the singers are trying too hard to add passion into their voices.

She was treated like a Queen by our crew and she felt very special. I need to thank them for that. I'll tell you something else. When she got there, I hadn't seen her in a while. I was kinda stunned to see how her sickness had progressed. When I was singing "Lights" I started to emotionally fall apart and had great difficulty tucking my emotions back. I got choked up and for a moment my voice faltered. She was getting very sick and it was so sad. It didn't hit me until I was in that moment on stage. I thought I was going to lose it in front of 90,000 people. She so loved the fact that my dream had been realized and at that moment...... I really felt it too.
