It's not the opinion, it's the venue/method of expressing it. He says it in a Rolling Stone interview? Expected. He says it on the White House lawn receiving an award? Pretty foolish.

I'm sure it would be "just an opinion, no big deal" to all the libs if Uncle Ted showed up at the White House and made fun of Obama during the next president's reign. Right.

It's also a lot like Michael Jordan's now-infamous Hall of Fame speech last year. When you're honored, you should receive an award with tact and grace. I don't care if you're as famous as Sir Paul or as obscure as the best cricket player in the world receiving an award.

Well, to me, yeah, it would be no big deal. People can say whatever they want about Bush, Clinton, Obama, Carter, Nixon... whatever. Is it particularly appropriate to do so AT the White House? No it probably is not. I think we're all in agreement on that. But it's not the worst offense ever, and certainly not the worst offense ever commited in that building.

But guess what... every single Commander in Chief has sullied that White House, or at least the position of "president" in one way or another, and a lot we know about and even more we probably do not know about. Watergate? Ring a bell? Cumstained dress in the Oval Office? Marilyn Monroe, while the wife and kiddies were home waiting?

So Paul walks in and makes a "Bush is dumb" joke... big deal. Bush IS dumb. And Bush stood in that Rose Garden many a time and proved that with the cameras rolling. But hey - at least Paul didn't get blown from under the podium WHILE he was joking on the ex-potus.

Now, if McCartney would have shown up in Black face, doing his best Al Jolson impression, that would have been funny!

Well, then people need to lighten up and prioritize. it's not a big deal to me because it's just a guy making a comment/joke, and it isn't the end of the world, regarless of political affiliation.

But - wait - so it was ok when GWB was standing behind the presidential seal at various conferences and state dinner telling jokes.... making light of the Iraq situation, ("heh heh heh, those weapons of mass destruction gotta be somewhere... heh heh heh" - direct quote.) even poking fun at HIMSELF for all the stupid crap he's said? They're all over Youtube.

Nah, I never said that. Bush had many cringeworthy moments. In other news, the sky is blue, water's wet, and TheNightBull is still an unemployed virgin.

I'm far from outraged over his comments. I have bigger fish to fry. I'm just saying, (1) it was tasteless and (2) these clowns stand to alienate at least half of their fanbase when they make these comments, particualrly when they charge ticket prices that most brokeass Democrat voters can't afford. Doesn't mean I'm gonna sell my albums or stop listening to Paul or anyone else who is liberal. My music/film collection would be pretty small if I had that mindset.

NO. He's NOT Steve F'ing Perry. But he's Arnel F'ing Pineda and I'm okay with that.

If I wanted to know what McCartney's view and belief on politics were....I would have went out and bought his book on it. Oh yeah, he's not written one, probably cause no one would have bought it. I'm glad now that the bitch he recently divorced took his ass to the cleaners. Won't be hard cleaning out his shit in my collection, I only have vinyl on him and that won't be no match for the nice ten pound hand sledge thats in the immediate forcast.
I've never eaten a piece of sushi I didn't thoroughly enjoy.

So angry

There are much bigger things to get outraged about right now.

Completely no anger. I seriously had a smile on my face as I swept up the pieces and put them all in the trash can yesterday. It's such a relief to rid my home of such useless rubbish. Only regret is that I didn't do it sooner. Now I can save my resources and not get another album or go to such shows of the guy.

He was being honored with the Gershwin award at the White House and it really tarnished the event.
LOVE McCartney, but just think that it was pretty lame remark at such a honorable occasion.

Love it. Bush was the worst in history and Sir Paul has the right to express how he feels.

When you step foot in the most recognized building in the land of our country and mock an elected former president, you disrespect yourself, the current and former president, and the country itself. Moreover, you disrespect the award you were given and the people/committee that gave it to you by using them to further endear yourself in the far left, hippie, drug-entrenched, community.

With all that whining, bitching and bellyaching bobby does and he's still got time to fuck with music? If I had that much free time on my hands, I could make a modern day masterpiece.
