F*&K it, Steve, you are in THE anti-Journey online den right now....EXTREMELY "uncool" here by the opinion makers here (LMFAO) to be pro Schon, Cain, Journey or ANY permutation of the three, and to not act like EVERY apocryphal accusation of "tapegate (tm R13 JP)" is logged, stamped and recorded in the Library Of Congress as incontrovertible FACT.

Fuck you! As bad as the Loons are, and trust me, they are embrrassing, you Schon asslickers are just as bad. Jana's worship of Neal is sickening.

I love JSS and can't wait to see him again in concert. But you DEANO know where the fault lies!!!

I don't follow. Please elaborate.

No harm stirring up old shit. Without it, what would we be left to talk about concerning Journey? Arnel's latest Bon Jovi and Queen renditions? Cain's engrossing move to Nashville with his family? Whether Ross will opt for Social Security at 63 or 65?

Journey's colorful past is much, much more entertaining.

I didn't say it wasn't more entertaining, just saying it's a bit odd in this situation...so, go ahead, rehash tapegate, it'll be great to reminisce.

A bore? I am a lot of things but definitely not a bore. I exposed Journey to lip syncing. It is a fact. Care to dispute it? It is what it is. It's rock n roll suicide. They will never get into the RnR HOF if I can help it. There is just no excuse for what they did.

I don't see Journey ever getting past the nomination round as long as they are touring with a replacement singer. Maybe when they have shut it down but not while they are active with anyone other than Perry.

The music industry has been a mockery for years and years. It doesn't make it right what happened, but he was far from making a mokery out of Journey or the industry. Nobody is perfect, least of Augeri or Journey. But it was a bad call on "the bands" part as a whole. Journey was more of a follower in this. Other peerformers were doing it, so they did. Wrong move!!! They should have took the high road. Augeri should have stood up and said no! But that did not happen and they followed the path they went down. Augeri's fault? Journey's fault? I do not care who is to blame. They and it is they made a mistake, a bad call, whatever you want to call it. They got caught. Good.
But do I hold that against them? No! I went to see Journey with Perry, Augeri, and Soto. I may go see them again (not a big AP fan here. He is my least favorite singer in the group, behind Ross. Yes AP can sing, but not a fan, maybe the new cd will change that). I will go see Augeri if he comes near here. But I have moved on ( I know you didn't bring this topic up). They did wrong, get over it, move on with or with out the band.

Sorry if this got under some folks' skin. Wasn't trying to stir it up. I was merely reacting to the excitement of Augeri's return to the stage, which I am looking forward to.
Regardless of what events led to his departure from Journey, I remain a fan of both him and the band.

Obviously, he couldn't - and shouldn't - play any Journey tunes. But I think it could be a cool way for the band to honor the man who "helped the Journey continue," and it would put Augeri back in front of the very people who love him.

Why would he want to open for the band that damn near ended HIS career.

You're an idiot. They made his career. They resurrected a guy that was working as a Maintenance Manager for The Gap and made him a millionaire several times over. His career had ended until Journey called. I'm not condoning what they did at all, but Steve Augeri owes the Journey hiring team a lot of thanks. Like it or not, his time in the band was basically an uneventful and stagnant 8 years of no CD sales, no media mention and GH tours. Yet they held on to him. Loyal, per usual.
