For someone who continues to put out the POP music that he supposedly hates,
he sure does it a lot. This tells me that the money
does mean more to him than the music
...and until he walks the walk, how can
anyone respect him when he talks the talk!?!
Gripes and complains about Perry era music, WTH?!?! At what point
since Perry has anything
changed, in that respect ...did they rock out at some point and I missed it?!? It is
very possible, just tell me when ...and what, where?!?!
Schon is a geat, great
geetar god ...I've seen nothing else about his
public image
that is respectable!!

What? He said he wouldn't play GCHI, I haven't heard it since, so how is he lining his pockets with it? And I could name any number of rocking songs (compared to ROR) since Perry.
It's the Styx/Babe argument all over. When the money was flowing 20, 30 years ago those who now complain turned a blind eye. Now with many years and those singers gone, it's easy to claim it was a bad direction/hated it/whatever with little impunity. Plus, even if they're not playing GCHI, it's been on most compilations for the band. Styx has not put all of DDY's hits on later compilations (for example, "Don't Let It End" is not on the CSA/Gold 2 CD set). At least Styx has put their proverbial money where their mouth is when it comes to doing certain songs.
Perry is not going to let out the GH without it though.
Sony probably has a pretty big say in what gets included on a greatest hits release. That said, the band hasn't been under that label for years so what difference does it make?
The last thing I can remember coming from Sony's camp that's Journey related besides those blue "Member lineup" stickers they've got plastered to the front of Journey's Greatest Hits was the 3.0 version of The Essential Journey (I'm listening to The Essential Heart 3.0 right now. Apparently, all of the Essential collections are being upgraded with a third disc, and with a lowering in price).
No difference to me, my point was that Neal said he wouldn't play GCHI again, he didn't say he was going to wipe it off the face of the earth.
My point is that he hated more than just GCHI ...remember his open hatred of OA?!?! Those are the types of songs that
are still played, because that's what the people want to hear and in order for people to show up to the shows, he
has them played ...hating them, still!! MONEY, MONEY and MONEY ...he's in control now, if he doesn't like them
he doesn't
HAVE to play them!!
Read the post in it's
entirety and then you can understand where I'm coming from,
friend!!
