WTF has this got to do with Bruce?
Navigating your way through the thread eh, Magellan? Deb and I are were arguing about something, and she went to the smaller is always better card, and I told her that's not true at all. While some bands can seem small and insignificant in a hockey arena, some truly have the ability to still make the place feel intimate. Springsteen is one of them, the ultimate showman.
Also, I was arguing that a singer would rather play a big barn instead of a margarita stand. Don't believe me, as JSS.
No argument there, that's a no-brainer, of course an artist is going to want to sing to 'more' than 'less' people. Like I said above strictly from a fans POV, I'd much rather see a fave in a smaller setting from a few feet away, than in a huge arena. No comparison. When a performer can reach out and hi five the hand of a fan or make those fans feel like part of it, that's an intimate show. Not up in the second tear of an arena, or even in the first row with a railing and security between you and the whole experience. As for stage presence, JSS is every bit as much of a showman as Springsteen, whether it's to 100 or 20,000. With a better voice I might add.
