Jana wrote:SPH, I agree. Very few newer bands these days that don't have the same soundalikeness. Muse is one of the few bands starting in the late 90s that have a totally unique sound. I still have a fondness for ColdPlay, even though many call them a poor man's U2. But there's enough of a difference that I like them, even though definitely emulating them in ways. Kings of Leon I love.

Here's the movie trailer for "It MIght Get Loud". Like I said, it's about the history of guitar told by the 3 of them. I think what was cool is there was no interviewer at all. The whole thing is just them talking.

WTF has this got to do with Bruce?

Navigating your way through the thread eh, Magellan? Deb and I are were arguing about something, and she went to the smaller is always better card, and I told her that's not true at all. While some bands can seem small and insignificant in a hockey arena, some truly have the ability to still make the place feel intimate. Springsteen is one of them, the ultimate showman. Also, I was arguing that a singer would rather play a big barn instead of a margarita stand. Don't believe me, as JSS.

Agreed 100%.
Now where the hell do we find a phone booth ?

You two dickturds wouldn't know good music if it came up through the toilet and reamed you in the ass.

That sounds about how I would describe U2s music with the difference of it leaving my ass and hitting the toilet ;)

No argument there, that's a no-brainer, of course an artist is going to want to sing to 'more' than 'less' people. Like I said above strictly from a fans POV, I'd much rather see a fave in a smaller setting from a few feet away, than in a huge arena. No comparison. When a performer can reach out and hi five the hand of a fan or make those fans feel like part of it, that's an intimate show. Not up in the second tear of an arena, or even in the first row with a railing and security between you and the whole experience. As for stage presence, JSS is every bit as much of a showman as Springsteen, whether it's to 100 or 20,000. With a better voice I might add. :P

Springsteen may be the worlds best showman, but that doesnt redeem his crappy voice & songs ;)

At least you admit it.

As for this statement, you clearly are well, clueless. To each his own I guess.

 Don't call me stupid, and my point was as far as stage presence JSS is very much a showman too. Example; as much as I love EM, he isn't quite the showman Jeff is. And I totally stand by my voice comment. Helluva songwriter, yes! Vocalist, no.
