Ahhhhh the laws of shabbat... that's some messed up stuff right there. I mean hey... whatever, if that's your life, your culture... then by all means have at it.... but some of these "laws" are just unreasonable... especially when they leak out and start affecting the rest of us. This is good story... the last hotel I worked for was in a predominantly jewish area... the assisant GM told me a story of a guy trying to blame the hotel for items stolen from his room... he left the door wedged open - no use of electronic anything allowed on shabbat, including hotel door locks, apparently - and left his room. Then told the hotel it was their fault he was robbed.
Um. I think not.
