A new update from Deen....he's still in the studio with Neal Schon and Marco Mendozza and they have recorded some killer new music! Also, two big announcements: First, Deen has his first SOLO album in the works. We can't share all the details yet but Deen is super excited about this new project and will fill us in with all the details when he can. Also, check back here in a few days to purchase your own Deen Castronovo t-shirt. All proceeds will benefit the Salem Boys and Girls Club, Deen's charity of choice! More details to follow later this week! Deen sends his best to everyone and is looking forward to seeing you all in 2011!

Solo album, hmmmm. Cool.

Talented and a wonderful man. :D 8)

I told him a couple years ago that he should do his own solo album. He jokingly said, "Who's gonna play the guitar???" That will be awesome to hear a solo record from him.

Looking forward to this one! I really liked the Deen lead vocals on Generations.

Oops... Management must not have like that, or it's coming out when Perry's solo CD is. :)

... and Perry?????????????????????
NO. He's NOT Steve F'ing Perry. But he's Arnel F'ing Pineda and I'm okay with that.

I don't like speculating, but what exactly is the status of Journey at this point? Since Revelations came out Neal has stated that they're recording a new album, but yet Neal was on tour and supposedly has 2 new albums coming out, Deen supposedly is going to have a solo album coming out.

Why are they doing all of this solo work? Why not get in the studio kick an awesome Journey album out with the best matierial from each member then release a solo album with whatever is left? Granted Journey has this "sound" that they're supposed to have, but lets be honest here. That "sound" didn't really become their standard sound until after Raised on Radio. Up until then every album they did had different a different sound to it to where they were pushing the issue be it rockers, bluesy songs, ballads, etc. Since they reformed with Perry for TBF the bands music although good has gotten very predictable and well to a point boring. They no longer really have anything that is rocking and with the exception of a few songs Revelations was IMO a major letdown.

The status of Journey? What's to question? The album has had lots of it recorded at this point. Pineda is coming back to the US this month to put some more into it. I don't see anything to question really. The band will kick off a world tour next year. And the album should be released just prior to the tour. Plenty of fight left in the dog, if you ask me.
Neal has pretty much always had solo projects. The one who's status, exactly, should be questioned, is Perry's. I think we all know the answer to that already.
