You prefaced your opinion with a statement that demonstrates you knew exactly the response you were going to get - then spent several pages bitching and moaning about it.
but none of those servicemen gaves their lives for me, or any other citizen of this country
The only reason you have the freedoms you do is because of those who are willing to risk their lives defending them, whether it means they stormed the beaches at Normandy or fight terrorists in Afghanistan. They died so that you may be free. Just because they did not jump in front of a bullet aimed at a US citizen on US soil does not mean they did not die defending the US and its citizens. They are fighting the war on the enemy's home soil instead of your own - the geographical location does not negate their sacrifice.
Your opinions about the current military and the war over oil are irrelevant and do nothing to support your argument given that you used Pearl Harbour as the last incidence of individuals sacrificing their lives for you. It demonstrates not only a poor argument, but ignorance of the facts. If you want to engage in a logical argument, try making one in the first place.
....the last individuals who gave their lives for this country died in Pearl Harbor....unless there is a DIRECT threat on U.S. soil - no one can claim the giving of one's life for me.
The last direct threat on US soil was actually 9/11 and as you may recall, the passengers of Flight 93 fought the terrorists for control of the plane and prevented it from crashing into the Capitol and potentially killing hundreds more. Those individuals gave their lives for their fellow countrymen too. And since Pearl Harbor was December 7, 1941, it follows then that you consider all of those who subsequently sacrificed their lives in the Second World War, against enemies who declared war on your nation, as not having died for you either. What an ungrateful fool.
Although it is very sad that they died at that young age...

We certainly agree on that, but it doesn't change the bitter tone of your post or excuse it. RossValoryRocks started a positive thread to acknowledge soldiers who died in service to your country and you decided to use it to start a fight of your own and then complain about the fact that you were losing it. You make an inflammatory statement knowing that you will upset a lot of people, and when you get the response you expected, you start whining about everything from "mob mentality" to how the board is managed. Not a profound example of logic, I might add.
By the way, just because most of the posters here do not agree with you and express their feelings does not make it a mob mentality - it means you pissed off a lot of people and they were willing to say so.
