It seems like everytime they take one step forward, then they take three steps back. I can see putting a few smaller bands with Journey in the UK, because they are not as nearly as popular as they are in the United States. But come on the same old bands again!

Its time for Journey to continue on the tour format like they did last year with one band as an opening act like Boston, Pat Benatar, or a co headliner with a band like Chicago, Bryan Adams, or even Foreigner. No more triple bills! These guys are way better than this.

I love Pat and have seen her live many times snce the days when she was playing colleges in Delaware. The last five years, she has either headlined or co-headlined. I don't think Journey wants to co-headline with anyone, at least not in the states.

Heart was fine but all indications are Def Leppard has partnered up with them for next summer.
I don't think Boston has it in them to do a huge tour like what Journey is planning so I would X them out also. Also, if Tom and the boys can play a place like the Gibson Amphitheater by themselves, why be an opening act?

Chicago is a pussified band...gay.

Bryan Adams is on record as saying that he wouldn't tour with a Perryless Journey, and also, he has scrapped his band for now. He is doing exclusively acoustic shows.

i would prefer a co headline instead of triple bill though
maybe journey/chickenfoot.
or throw in a hard rock/heavy metal band to draw a different crowd, maybe tesla
hell even billy squier would be a change of pace, saw him last year and the set was good

I would dig Triumph, but as stated they are back on the shelf.

I would enjoy MR. Big - this would be a good pairing.

Chickenfoot would be cool but would most likely be a co-headliner and I am not sure what if any the fallout from Planet US might have an effect on this.

Tesla - good pairing I think.

I wouldn't mind Billy either - that works too.

Triumph opening for Journey would be cool. But I don't mind the triple bills. You just get more for your money. I thought the Cheap Trick, Heart, Journey shows were spectacular ... especially for the price. I sat in the front row 4 or 5 times on that tour for $125. That is an incredible deal. Thank you, Heart Fan Club. Cyndy Poon is actually the one that initiated that idea. Thanks to her, too.

Does everyone really believe this will be the stateside package? Schon never mentioned anything about Journey conquering the world over the next two years as part of a coalition.

I just don't see it. For them to have the same amount of stage time that Cheap Trick did in 2008 just doesn't seem logical.
Neal has made it pretty clear that he thinks the band should be a stand alone headliner, so I don't see the co-headlining setup being possible either, at least in the states.

Oh, I haven't a clue ...just hoping!! But somebody better drop their ego at the door,

Given that Don’t Stop Believin’ has been officially recognised as the most downloaded song of all time (“Bigger than [anything by] Led Zeppelin or The Beatles, that’s mind-boggling,” marvels Schon), Journey are already planning to play in the UK in 2011.

“The promoters are keen to have us back as [bona fide] headliners, and we’re excited to be coming as part of our next world tour,” sums up Neal.

In Neal's defense, because I absolutely love what he has
brought to us, the fans, talent wise ...he has done well for himself in spite of his education.
That said ...yes, sometimes it would be better if he just shut up and played!!

Bingo. I agree with you MG, he is the most talented guitar player there is (IMHO) and I LOVE his playing. I've said it before, I have more than one of his solo albums.

I thought Neal had been declared a genius.

Oh, wait, it was guitar prodigy. Perry was the genius. Who can deny that, based on the way he managed to set himself up fiancially, while the band continued to work, as he got paid as a sixth member?

Dean, I think Neal wasn't too keen on having this conversation again.

Neal: "So Joe, we're really excited to be co-headlining shows with your band."

Joe: "Yeah, yeah, same here."

Neal: "So what do you want to flip a coin or play rock/paper/scissors to see who opens the first show?"

Joe: (laughs uncontrollably)

London Wembley Arena - June 4th

Birmingham NIA - June 5th

Newcastle Metro Radio Arena - June 7th

Manchester Evening News Arena - June 8th

Glasgow SECC - June 9th

I would imagine that the band(s) will be appearing at Sweden rock festival too, which comes a few days later.

For some reason i can't access the noticeboard, as people on there are enquiring about ticket prices, so i shall give them here.

£44 + booking fee. Absolute bargain imo.

this is COMPLETELY random but I am playing DSB today on bass flute as part of a flute quartet. It is the recessional for a wedding. plz pray for me--that the cheesiness does not overtake my rocker spirit. I'll try to video..so you can laugh WITH me.

Sweden Rock Festival AND Download Festival are both that upcoming weekend. Will be hard for them to play both but it could be done if the organizers collaborated I guess. I think the arena shows are a better deal for the bands involved here.

Just noticed the consecutive dates for the UK shows. What about Pineda's issue about not doing three shows in a row?

That would probaly also screw with doing the Festivals on the 11th and 12th.

Ahhh didn't realise about Download being the same wknd as Sweden rock. I can imagine them playing the one of them but not really both.
I think the line up and ticket prices are fantastic. Been wanting a line up something like this for 25 freakin yrs or so over here. Can't wait, although i do fear a little for Journey, as Foreigner are rocking big time nowadays and could very well steal the show.

I'm really pissed off about this! I could tolerate a gig of Journey supported by Foreigner, but STYX!!!! WTF?!?! I travelled to Paris on the last tour to see Journey play a full two hour show in a small venue (4000), with songs that weren't just the dirty dozen and it was the best gig i've ever been to! This is gonna suck balls! Gonna be Full of fucking glee fans and 65 year old women waiting for don't stop believing and I wanna know what love is!Never thought I'd say this about Journey but I'm considering passing on this one! :(

Triumph is done, at least with Rik Emmett as their vocalist. That window closed. I don't know if it was because they couldn't get the right type of touring deal or if Rik was just waffling about really returning permanetly but it seems pretty much dead in the water now.

I don't think Rik Emmett is the issue. I saw Triumph @ Rocklahoma and was also able to watch the rehearsals the day before. They were the best of friends , it was awesome sight ( rehearsal).
I think it is a question of the right deal and also the fact Gil Moore is comfortable in the Metalworks empire.
The trio are back as friends. Maybe a one-off or two in 2011 ? ( just my hoping though, need my Triumph fix )
Triumph is NOT going to go on the road as a opening act, maybe at a festival but not on a tour.

You must be crazy, as this kinda lineup will probably NEVER happen again over here. This will be a rockin good gig and you could probably learn a lot from it when covering their material in the future.
