They're both fucking great. Classic sound, no frills, great classic 70s rock. 80s bands need to take note. This is how it's done. If you're a fan of good 70s classic rock (and I know a lot of you have absolutely wretched musical tastes, so just disregard this if you're one of those), pick both of these up.

Does April Wine have a new album? And I gotta admit, I don't really know any Nazareth besides Hair of the Dog. What are some good tracks/albums for Naz?

"That What It Is" sounds like classic BTO.
I haven't picked up the Doobies yet, but it is on my list, I have heard nothing but good things.

Nah, April Wine's last was '06 and not sure when Nazareth last put something out, but their greatest hits album still gets tons of play. I meant more on....still out there playing live, both have played here in the last couple years. April Wine definitely kicked my ass, GREAT show, they have so many hits!

That I'll agree with, wasn't keen on the last one either. But gawd they had some great tunes........ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aEgOh_RvX5w
And Myles still sounds great live, granted he can't hit some of his super highs from the 70s, but he still sounds damn good.

I hated the turn the Doobies took when McDonald joined the band, but it is kind of cool hearing him with them again.
Johnston scares me in concert. Looks like he'll hop down and kick your ass if you're not up having fun and getting into his music.

Great jazzy groove and guitar playing. The heir apparent to "Looking out for No. 1"
