Amen. Even more than the cheating and baby, which is awful, it makes me sick that he didn't make her feel it was a blip in their long life together and that she was his true love and most important woman in the world during this finite time she had left on earth. Instead, he was so untrustworthy that at a certain point her family said she had to separate because she couldn't take it anymore. It made me sad when she said in an interview a while back something to the effect that she hated the thought of not being held at night by someone you love during the last months of her life and during this fight for her life. She said she had her children's love and that was important, but the other was different. I knew what she meant I know how important my father was to my mom during her fight for cancer and how close they were. The least he could have done was do that, but he's too narcissistic.

I was really rooting for him to be the Democratic candidate--if he hadn't effed up so bad he would have made a good president I think. As badly as he derailed he and Elizabeth had a lot of history so I can see why he was with her. I imagine he is pretty broken up about her death. I was thinking about him today too and how I suppose a shallow man in spite of all their wealth, brains, ambition, age, power, stability, etc., will throw it all away over illicit sex (I was tempted to say a blonde bimbo but that is derogatory). It's amazing the power women have over men...

I know. But he is her children's father and she had to make peace with him for herself and for the children, which she did, I guess.

I'm sure she knew they would give her something to help her go today and it was very gracious of her to share a message.
She was brave.

The hard thing for Elizabeth leaving her little ones behind was probably the fear that "that woman" will be in their life as a stepmother. Especially hard to deal with considering that interview Rielle gave, while Elizabeth was terminally ill, saying derogatory things about Elizabeth and talking about her "Johnny." I can't imagine having that weighing on you as a mother, that this disrespectul flake would be helping to raise your children when you're gone.

Smart, tough, no-nonsense, walked through her own hell & back but didn't so much as singe her wings... and did everything with a gracious countenance & a smile. I've always admired her strength of will & embodiment of character. She just got it.
Rest in paradise, Elizabeth.
