So Jim - how does your wife like Kinect? I got it for Christmas - pretty much haven't sat down since! Only thing is - hubby bought me the wrong dance game (I wanted Dance Central because at least I know some of the songs on it). It came with some adventure game, which got boring pretty quick. But I've ordered Dance Central, the Zumba workout thingy and the Motion Sports games, should be here any day. I'm addicted! (and sore )

We got the kids Kinect and I LOVE it!! Dance central is so much fun! I think you'll love it! I didn't know there was a zumba! I think that would be fun! Dance central is great excersize!! What amazing technology!

It really is amazing! My husband bought the Dance Masters game - it's a bit too 'clubby' (and way too complicated for me right now!) But there is a demo of Dance Central on the other game I got - I've already 5-starred Poker Face on 'medium' in 2 days (if we never hear that song again I'll be happy ). The Zumba one looks like a lot of fun - I love Latin music and dancing and always wanted to try a Zumba class - now I can embarass myself in the comfort of my own home

Love the Kinect technology. I was very skeptical about Playstation Move. That's also damn impressive and really makes WiiMote look pretty "cheap". The accuracy is top notch. Best $50 I ever spent. Specially with the demos you can download to try it out.

The fitnesss demo that came with mine actually scanned my body and gave me measurements And in all the games there's an option to take photos - I turned that off pretty quickly - didn't need a picture of myself dancing to Poker Face in my bathrobe!!

Nah! We didn't have it On xbox live. I don't think they are using actual images anyway though. Scary thought though! I'd feel bad for THEM! My kids joke that this is like "skynet" and these machines will take over it's really cool though! So much better than the wii with things like exercise and dance! The controller thing doesn't work too well for that!

Well, we keep our xbox internet off when we play, unless the kids are playing their games with others. Microsoft is very careful in their wording though. They say they don't identify you, and they make it sound like they are looking at those movement pictures, not the "actual" pictures and video of YOU. Like the sensor stuff? They are really vague. I really don't think they are looking at actual images of us though, because then you get into privacy issues in people's homes, and I would think that would lead them into problems legally.

Here, it works through "skeletal" tracking....

"The Kinect sensor scans your body – we call it skeletal tracking – in order to facilitate game play. Skeletal tracking data is a representation of body joints–picture a stick figure - and cannot be used to personally identify you. This information, that we call session data, is held in temporary memory on the console and is only used to create the “stick figure” needed to track your movements. When you turn off your Xbox, the skeletal tracking information is deleted from temporary memory. "

"Kinect Performance Data. This information helps us continuously improve Kinect performance. It does not personally identify you, and collection of this data cannot be disabled. That's what happens when you oversaturate the market with 8 million iterations of the same game. There was no way you could keep up with all the different iterations, let alone with the Rock Band iterations out there too. Just too much.
