No one is putting down the scientists.
Go back a page and read some of Artist4perry comments in regards to science and scientists in general.
We have many great things that make our lives easier , thanks to them. Whether it's medicine , technology or anything that has improved our lives , it's thanks to the scientists.
Yes, it's great isn't it? Thank God for science.
But to accept any and every little THEORY that a scientist writes about as fact without questioning it , makes you as "bad" as religious people following their beliefs without any questinos asked.
Uh...nobody is doing that? I look at the facts, which is something science can provide plenty of, and come to my own conclusions based on those facts. Every theory and fact in science has to undergo peer review. Nobody can just write anything and present it to the public as fact.
"Science is a way of thinking much more than it is a body of knowledge." - Carl Sagan
Objectivity, and questioning everything is something that any intelligent person would understand, scientist or not.
The big difference here is tho , religious people say " I believe in God , you go ahead and believe I'm your theory or fact that we come from monkeys , I believe you when you PROVE it to me that there is no God ".
But you and PeePee insist that " you guys are morons. It's our way or the highway. If the scientists said there's no God , there is no God. So youre a dumbass if you believe in God , cause my scientists say he don't exist. "
1. The burden of proof is not on me, it's on the one making the claim that God or any other supernatural being exists.
2. We are not saying that at all. Science is not being brainwashed or indoctrinated. It's a way of thinking and understanding. Simple as that. I believe in God because I chose not to as an individual based on the facts (or lack thereof) presented to me.
I'm not trying to belittle anybody, but as I said earlier, if you're going to challenge science or atheism, and you decide to use religion as your weapon of choice, you need to provide facts. So far, I have seen nothing.
“There may be fairies at the bottom of the garden. There is no evidence for it, but you can't prove that there aren't any, so shouldn't we be agnostic with respect to fairies?” - Richard Dawkins
You're not gonna change eachothers mind. But try to be somewhat respectful about other peoples beliefs. Since your theories aren't actual FACTS , you have NO rights to put people down for their beliefs. You can question them but after all it's what a person believes in and their rightfully entitled to do so.
These "Theories" are facts. If you had done any research or even a simple paragraph of reading into the subject, you would know that. They are entitled to their own beliefs, but perhaps you can tell the religious folks to also stop spewing bullshit all over science as if science is a religion. There is no faith involved in science. I'm only defending against the absolute ignorance shown here in this thread towards science.
