Missed your reply while I was typing mine, lol. Thanks, and wish you could be there!

I'm amazed I understood that without a translator. Maybe there is some hope for me not getting totally lost there. :)

Man, where has she been anyway? Last I heard she was working full-time and I'm not even sure she'll be there. If I'm traveling that far, I want to meet everyone I can.

In 2008, there were 3 Chile venues but one got cancelled. I am guessing there will be at least one more venue.

Thanks, and wow... I didn't realize there was any more than Vina Del Mar in 2008! Was one a private gig, and which venue did they cancel? I don't think there is a second gig this time, or not back-to-back anyway. If I find out about one, you know how that goes...

JOURNEY OVERLOAD for Sao Paulo! 2 former Journey frontmen make a stop prior to the Journey concert.
Credit goes to seven of APR

Steve Augeri in Sao Paulo and Porto Alegre

What can I say? The wait is over!!! I'll buy my tickets today, front row too!!! For many years I felt jealous of all of you. Now it's time to realize this dream. I'm in Rio, but I'm just a 50 minutes flight away from Sao Paulo!!!

And March 30th is a special day for me. It was my father's birthday.

Pineda is back in the USA for the past couple days. Glad he came in a bit early so they can practice, rather than show up a day
or so before the first gig. :D

Well, he did say he gets paid up front with Journey, so I would expect him in town a litle bit early to take care of the financial details (Too bad he didn't do that before the beer garden gig a few years back).
Dude is HG all the way.

Arnel is enjoying the same riches and perks that Steve Augeri did before him. Getting paid copious amounts of money to sing Journey songs, primarily those created by Neal, Nostrildamus, Jon, Ross, Smitty and Rolie. It's also worth noting that Arnel's likability and talents (and ethnicity) have brought along a pretty impressive following of his own.

Who knows? Remember, he got paid up front for the Revelation Album and Tour, so that seven bucks a disc and 690,000 tickets sold, the rest of the band was getting to dip into probably wasn't something he got to enjoy. Even last year, he told the RP media that he was getting paid up front for his services so despite them saying he's a full fledged member, maybe that doesn't really kick in until this album and tour.

I'm sure he has made more money than he will ever need to enjoy retirement in the Philippines for the rest of his life.
Speaking of, did you see the drink prices for his club? Definitely not for the average Filipino, it looks like he is catering to a crowd that is more affluent than the ones he grew up with. It's to be expected though, in the end everyone likes money and you can't just eat continuously on the character traits of being a sweet and humble guy.

In Arnel's club on average, about 180 pesos ($4). The average Philippine household's income is estimated at $2,148 per year ($6.62, or around 305 pesos a day) so you can see a few drinks would definitely put a dent in the average guy's wallet there.

Obviously, the key word being average.

I think the domestic beer is around 80p (When I was there last, you could usually get it during happy hour for about 25p). If you are into the local beer San Miguel, you'll be alright money wise but for a local, after four beers, he's out a day's salary already.

San Miguel is actually pretty good beer. If you wanna get hosed a bit faster try Red Horse. I think it's their equivalent of Natural Ice.

Natural Ice kicked my ass. So did the hangover. I'm not sure what the alcohol content in it is, but damn. Same with Steel Reserve 211.

Made some great friends with some awfully nice people. I have attended 2 Manny Pacquiao PPV events, a Plokker dinner and a well attended celebration of Arnel's birthday (with Tito). I can honestly say that every single party was top notch, from the beer to the food, to the hospitality of the folks. There were also some less formal events like a casino trip and a kick ass time at The Dragonfly restaurant and nightclub in China Town. That was a wild night!

So providing you've already played with the magic mic, all that's left to do is get a little LBFM action and your plokker bucket list will be complete.
