All the while, missionaries are walking around in Africa, preaching the gospel of God and to to stay away from condoms. That's not funny. It's sick and ugly. Leap of faith, I guess.
Hypocrite...You've got no moral high ground to be castigating anyone for anything. Unbelievable.
Yes, I do, because I don't pretend to be talking to the creator of the universe, preaching his gospel and morals like he's a kind, loving guy, when in fact he's a hateful dictator, who's supposedly made a world where 60% of the world lives in poverty. Where there's murder and injustice all around. Yet you people love him, though ironically he hasn't done shit to improve the world that he created. Oh, that's not entirely correct; he helped Ginger find her man.
While scientists work for HIV cures, improved cancer treatment or through their work at LHC, one way or another, improves the quality of life. There's absolutely no fucking way you can be a reasonable person, and believe in God, especially if you're a theist; interpreting the bible literally. Then you're deluded and ignorant. Simple as that.
At least Christians pray for the people you speak of. What do you do? At least the missionaries are there trying to help, whether you think they do or not. They dedicate their lives to helping them. I can't think of a more unselfish act. Again, what do you do? Sounds to me like you go to college, work out, piss on women and practice atheism. Real meaningful and unselfish life there junior. When you do something to help the kids in Africa, I'll applaud you, until then, bashing those that do is, as Dave said, hypocritical. Especially when you use those same kids to further your argument.

Most of you don't agree with each others beliefs and have been programed to think that you are the one's that will be saved and the others are lost souls, whatever the hell that is. Religion is the single most evil in the world.

To paraphrase Christopher Hitchins, it has been proven the world over that the two most effective methods of raising the bar when it comes to poverty is the empowerment of women and sex education - particularly the use of condoms. Almost all religions have been a stubborn barrier to both.
There is no doubt religious based charities do a lot of good work, but so do secular charities like Oxfam. Good people will do good things irrespective of religion.

No Sir. I don't practice any religion. I do however believe in God. I don't need to go to Any buildings to communicate with God. I dont need to have any books show me how to live. However I do not put people down if they practice a religion. I do, however, love to argue just for the hell of it.

In 1975, Norman Poythress studied a sample of 234 US college undergraduates, grouping them into relatively homogeneous religious types based on the similarity of their religious beliefs, and compared their personality characteristics. He found that "Literally-oriented religious Believers did not differ significantly from Mythologically-oriented Believers on measures of intelligence, authoritarianism, or racial prejudice. Religious Believers as a group were found to be significantly less intelligent and more authoritarian than religious Skeptics." He used SAT's as a measure of intelligence for this study.
I know you boys will deny this like you do with everything else, but there's no denying it: do you believe, then you're clearly less reasonable and knowledgeable. You even will, or can't understand the simplest of physics and biology. It's pitiful, to be honest.

Conceptions of God vary widely. Theologians and philosophers have studied countless conceptions of God since the dawn of civilization. The Abrahamic conceptions of God include the monotheistic definition of God in Judaism, the trinitarian view of Christians, and the Islamic concept of God. The dharmic religions differ in their view of the divine: views of God in Hinduism vary by region, sect, and caste, ranging from monotheistic to polytheistic to atheistic. Divinity were recognized by the historical Buddha, but they play a subordinate role in the devotee's personal path to salvation. Conceptions of God in the latter developments of the Mahayana tradition give a more prominent place to notions of the divine.
